A Replacement to the Gravity Hammer

So everyone knows the Gravity Hammer was in Halo 4 for no reason other than multiplayer. But 343i felt that once it was in the game, they should put it in campaign. So they did. In one spot

At the end of the game.

So it really isn’t important in the campaign
That’s why I think it should be replaced. I know some people won’t want this due to nostalgia, but whatever. It should be replaced by a Promethean Hammer that works exactly the same. It would basically only be a texture change, but it would compose them a little bit after being hit. Now we can have Prometheans with Hammers in the campaign, bringing back some of those “boss fight” enemies that you sometimes find.

What does everyone else think?

That would be such an awesome weapon. It would feel amazing getting kills with that and watching them being composed. XD

Nice idea, Trio!

What if brutes return?

If Brutes return, then keep the Gravity Hammer! It doesn’t seem like it though, but you never know.

Why would Prometheans use hammers?

I say leave it to the brutes
Prometheans already have those machete things

meh i’d rather have brute visual, sound design and name than change it for the sake of lore. the equivalent is like creating a promethean sword in replacement of the energy sword, it’s just pointless. it’s an identity of halo multiplayer. you can have your lore in campaign but i’d rather keep the key concepts of multiplayer the same, change is good, needless change is not, it’d need a bit more of a justification than just lore.

it isn’t nostalgia, the sentimentality of a former situation, it’s the desire to keep a trademark of the game you enjoy. logos aren’t nostalgia they’re good for marketing, a selling point and are both recognisable and distinguishable to that franchise.

what’s the point in changing the general idea of the warthog into a different vehicle that performs exactly like a warthog…when you have the warthog. you can make upgrades but in any material there are things that people expect to find, i wouldn’t ignorantly call that nostalgia as it is more like a film…a game series is like a film genre, there are certain expectations and certain elements that people enjoy, because in that design there was outside sources that attributed to why it came to be. putting on a different skin for the sake of it loses that uniqueness

I don’t think it needs a replacement, but it is an interesting idea. Switching the Grav Hammer for the sake of updating it for the new enemies just because the old ones went extinct (?) doesn’t make much sense to me.

I really don’t think this thread needed reviving almost a year later. :expressionless:
