A Reason why halo will never be the same

I posted this awhile back before we seen much if anything about halo 5. While i didnt have any faith a game developer would consider this I still like to point out this a reason all newer halos will never feel like 1-2.

Does anybody even care about these mechanics?

Do people realize pretty much all “problems and issues” stem from this?

Jeez i never noticed this. Although i agree i would like halo to go back into this direction i feel alot of people would complain it would feel “cartoony”

The Halo: MCC sold around 50 million copies or more. I don’t think Halo is dead.

LOL, never, the best sold Halo is Halo 3 with 15+ Million copies. Halo MCC is out barely 2 months now and in that time it is impossible to sell 50 million copies.

Only 11 million Xbox ones have been sold, so how is that possible? MCC’s day one sales weren’t too impressive either.

Sounds like you are just making up numbers.

My point probably illustrates why sales stink. It cannot be the same game no more. No matter what they add or take away. The scale is way too different now.

Just dying to play something modern on console that had the kind of scale Halo CE had(but more quicker, better kill times etc)

Interesting. I will keep that in mind.

The only other sales number I found was from Wikipedia: “According to Microsoft, Halo 3 had sold 14.5 million copies as of 2012.”
However, I tend not to trust this statement, as it has already been documented with Windows Vista and again with Windows 8 that Microsoft treats software shipped to stores as already sold, even if they still sit on the shelves.

However, I will from now on takte the numbers from VGChartz with a grain of salt.

Still, the general order of magnitute relevant for this discussion stays the same.

Well, there are also other factors why the sales are different from each incarnation(Competition,other activities popular besides gaming at the time being, etc)

But I agree. Having played the MCC before i can confirm there is a noticeable difference once you play the halo 3(and later titles) game.

A perfect frankenstein halo would be
*Fov from halo 2 classic
*Scale of halo 1
*Movement speed of halo 2 or halo reach after the title update
*Movement acceleration of halo 1
*Aim assist from halo 5
*Kill times from halo reach
*Projectiles from halo 3
*Abilities and powerups from halo 4/5

Do it 343i!!!

No they won’t it’s a new system new ideas, is anything the is new the same as the old? No they aare not that’s how things go get over it cars are not the same tv’s are not everything changes for a reason get over it. It’s better now.

I dont see the point of scrapping something just for the sake of it being old. “If it aint broke, dont fix it”

Especially considering how everybody always complains how its so easy to land all shots and strafing is a lost art.

This is proportionally affected by the fact the character models are no longer huge on the maps anymore.
