Now before u read I didn’t post this to defend 343 but to give some insight on what they have been thinking because we got way to many “this should have been here since launch forums already”
okay so I can’t be the only one who is thinking this . So ever since halo 5 came out with low content it got me thinking. We get monthly free updates but no content at launch unless it had something todo with how would the population fair against games that were out before and rich after halo 5 and 2016.
past halo games didn’t have much of a competition than halo 4 and 5.
now halo 4 had more content than halo 5 and the population fell even with paid dlc and the forge islands
on to halo 5 343 was probably thinking with the competition we have we need a system that can bring back people and keep them entertained for long periods of time.
so we launch small use war zone as the main way of unlocking everything. Then have content roll in monthly to bring back players each month ( and be honest WE ALL FELL FOR THAT PART) we bring in forge as a way of getting the community to help them out with stalling till gametypes and all the things the community is asking for starts to roll in. After when they are half way through they bring out gametypes and fan favorites and try to get a big finale in June.
this monthly idea is actually keeping the population high enough to stay in the most played game on Xbox spot and keep us coming back. It sucks that we have to wait for all the content we want to be there but we all have to ask ourselves this
if we had all of this at launch how long would we stay entertained and satisfied after all many other great games are already pulling us away. T_T
