So in halo 3 you had social and rank playlists. Social gave you just xp and rank gave xp and had a number rank. In reach you just earn cR based on what you did during that game. Basically what i purpose is a hybrid where you again have ranked and social along with the ranked giving you a # rank but also instead of xp you get cR like you do now. So once you get into the higher ranks you still need get a # but you also need cR. It can also allow for people to still rank up to a certain extent in social and earn cR when needed. And it can allow people to still buy armor using cR.
could work, still reckon call of duty has the best ranking system, other than that, halo still has the best online, and i reckon they would both work very well, sure reach attempted something similar with Cr, but must it really take ten friggin years to rank up? reminds me of the horror of warrent officer grade 3

Call of Duty doesn’t even have a ranking system, that’s the kind of thing that a lot of us want to avoid. I would love a ranked set of playlists that used the Halo 2 method for the number and a hybrid of Halo 3/Reach for the exp.
So that Lieutenant could be Rank 10 and 10,000 Credits, Captain rank 20 and 50.000 Credits etc etc

A hybrid of H2/H3’s ranks and Reach’s is definitely a smart solution. However, I think of a slightly different system:
- Playlists are split into ranked and social. Guests can be taken into social playlists but not ranked ones.
- A player’s rank is only shown next to his name in the lobbies of ranked playlists, but not in social lobbies.
- Experience points which you need to level up can be earned only in ranked playlists.- You get 2 points if your team wins, 1 point if it’s a draw, zero points if your team loses.- In FFA playlists (assuming it’s eight players) you get 3, 2, and 1 EXP for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, respectively; with only six players you get 2 EXP for 1st place and 1 EXP for 2nd place.
- Credits can be earned in both ranked and social playlists and are awarded depending primarily on indivudual performance with a (small) bonus for winning.

Isn’t CoD’s ranking system essentially the same as Reach’s?
