A Quick Note on Control Schemes

So we are told that certain buttons can only be swapped with certain other buttons because of the way they function (Can’t put a hair-trigger on a stick click, etc.).

This is why we have control schemes.

Now, riddle me this: Why doesn’t 343 just allow us to remap controllers within their own parameters?

Example:

-I want to remap melee.
-I can put it to ABXY, a trigger or a stick click.
-I can’t put it to BACK, START or D-PAD.

It would seem like the best of both worlds.

Limited Custom Control Schemes anyone?

Feedback anyone? I’m pretty sure this can be done on short notice.

Though I’m not sure of when they go/went gold.

Here’s another example:

-Shooting can only be remapped to left or right trigger.
