So people are annoyed that instead of giving us the hornet or the falcon they gave us the wasp as the UNSC air vehicle. The main reason they are annoyed is that the wasp is a “phaeton reskin” and they wanted a multi player aerial vehicle like in past halo’s. A quick fix 343 could do to stop these complaints could be to add 2 little side seats on the side of the wasp,or to make it easier maybe 2 little handle bars that Spartans can grab on to.
I’m sure that would appease most players that are concerned over it. I think that’s a good idea, but we will see how it all works. We don’t even know how well it maneuvers yet. If it’s faster, which I’m imagining it is, maybe they don’t want side seats because then the warthog may become obsolete. Or you will have players drop off their friends in hard to reach places (That would be awesome in WZ).

Exactly, this way it’s easier for 343 because they don’t need to create a brand new model, they can just make a tiny edit to the existing one, and 343 would get credit for creating a new design of vehicle.

I doubt it would make the warthog obsolete because i’m guessing this is going to be a high end req vehicle. From what we know it will have vertical take off and weapons exactly like the hornet so adding in side seats would pretty much be the icing on the cake. Plus i think adding side seats wouldn’t effect gameplay that much because the side seats on the hornet were rarely for combat and they were pretty exposed so you could die easily, the side seats are primarily for transportation.

I’m glad someone else realizes it’s a hornet without seats. I’m excited to try it out.

Same here, but giving it side seats would really improve it, it would hardly break the balance of the game because the side seats on the original hornets were only used for transport. I can’t count the amount of times i got killed when i was riding on the side of one in halo 3.
It reminds me of a mini pelican. When I think about it, if you put side seats on it, players are gonna get blown off right away, because everyone is gonna be packing a DMR if the wasp is like lvl 6 and up. And with sentinel scope, I imagine it would be much easier to headshot someone on a wasp as it has no boost or quick dodge. It would have been awesome for air style BTB CTF though

That’s exactly why it balances out perfectly, side seats don’t improve the wasps attacking capabilities, it just gives players the option to get across the map, although more dangerously, faster then they would on foot. It would be so cool to see a wasp land in the back of the enemy teams core room (through the roof were the pelicans land at the start) and drop off a small strike team to win the match.
Honestly I just wish they did something, anything, to move it away from the light cannon/heavy secondary VTOL archetype that has dominated Halo’s aerial vehicle sandbox.
At this point I am fine with just ripping off the Banshee(heh) from Starcraft 2, ditch the machine guns, unguided missile barrage only, cloaking ability. Boom, unique entity (for the Halo sandbox anyway).

What I don’t get is that none of the pictures show the underside… or the behind all that well.
I don’t think it’s necessary. The wings are flat and big enough to allow a group of people to stand on it. But anyways, who said this is a driver only vehicle. I can see 2 things on the top that look like seats.

I didn’t notice those, that’s very interesting.based on their positioning i just assumed it was just a weird art choice, i wouldn’t expect spartans to jump off right next to the jet engine. Good eye though. 343 hasn’t said anything about its passenger capacity so that is why many people are annoyed and confused. But on first observation it does appear to only be a 1 seater.
