At that point just play H3… I think H5 should enbrace that it’s not H3 and step out of its shadow
The issue is it never fully commits to being its own game or being a H3 clone so it ends up ont making anyone happy
I say H3 already exists so do the new thing the main think I liked about the beta was the gameplay balencing with weapons and abilites the visuals are just bonus I mean the energy sword looked so clean in the beta
But I don’t like H3. If I’m gonna play classic I like H2. H3 lacks all the great movement mechanics in H5. H5 HCS is the perfect competitive Halo for me. I love the Magnum, I love being able to easily see teammates on my radar. I love that sprinting prevents shield regeneration. I love love love button combos for movement and spring jumping. The only thing I don’t care for is non HCS radar, AR starts, Spartan Charge and power weapon timers. That’s why I think HCS H5 is the pinnacle and I’ll take it over shiny graphics and details any day. Just my opinion of course.
For me, the Beta shined in a few ways over the final game. One, the base player movement felt slightly faster, something i enjoyed. The color palette was much less saturated, which made the player models look less plasticky and glow in the dark, when compared to the map color and lighting. The Battle Rifle was perfect in the Beta, i was always hoping itd return to its former glory. It was precise, good damage, and high RoF, but also balanced for the game’s speed. Again, i loved the Beta, but some improvements were needed.
I dont remember if the Beta ran at 60fps, but the release game did, and it was better for it. So smooth and almost organic feeling.
Changing the ground pound to the melee button when airborne was a much better choice than the right stick click and hold, from the Beta.
Weapon tuning and later variant releases improved the weapon pool nicely, the addition of the gunfighter magnum was a dream come true.
Small improvements and DLC releases made the game feel fresh month to month, even though some features and game modes were absent at launch.
