Is Fireteam Osiris worthy enough to be “Spartans” to you? Don’t try to cut conner and say stuff like “Well Buck is, but the other aren’t.”.
I thought we were supposed to make a parallel between spartan 4s and the covenant. Technology developed by some predecessor which falls into the hands of a new generation which misinterprets the will of its creators and becomes exploited by a group of elite in the power structure of its society. Is that not what 343 was going for?

I don’t think I’ve heard anyone say that they dont believe Team Osiris is worthy of being Spartans.
The only things I’ve heard negative about them is that they are no match for Blue Team in a battle.
However after that cinematic I have seen nothing but positive thoughts towards Osiris.
Why can’t we pick Buck out of the bunch?
If hes truly the only one worthy in our eyes, why not?

I don’t like Buck… Only because when playing ODST on legendary on the last mission he misses like the first two or three shots on the gauss cannon when shooting… I died a number of times from his non gauss gunning 
I was like Buck banshee coming straight at us… Buck shoots… miss, miss, miss, oh finally hit it… oh we are dead… buck is like my bad…

Well the only reason why we love Buck is because of this:

Without him I don’t think Buck would be as big as he is.
But. It is true, Buck is worthy but. The others, they arent.

I’d say that since I don’t know the lore behind any of them besides the publicity stunts done by 343i (huntthetruth, etc), I can only say that I think Locke is good enough to be a Spartan. Buck I knew from ODST, but he was only really brought back because people liked him, not because he is worthy of being a Spartan.

I dont hate Spartan IV’s anymore thanks to the Initiation and Escalation.
Hell yea. Locke is already a badass. He don’t give a -Yoink-. Definitely one of my favorite characters going into this game. I may be in the minority on that opinion.

If he, as an normal ODST without the armor, the lifelong training or the medical operations, is almost as good as a Spartan II he clearly is good enough to be a S IV…

Ok. This issue is not specific to Osiris as it is to ALL Spartan 4’s. Yes they are more socially normal than Spartan 2’s, but everything we have seen from Spartan 4’s is a cocky teenager attitude (which is not a good outlook for the UNSC’s supposedly “best”). Everything we have read, watched, and heard about from Blue Team shows that Osiris can not win this fight. The fact that 343i is trying to make Osiris seem so much better than they are’ (in comparison to Blue Team anyway, I have no doubt Osiris is just a can of bad -Yoink-) makes fans who know that Blue Team has an upper hand. But the common misconception "a Spartan 4 is equal to a Spartan 2 is just laughable.
So in turn this all just makes fans that know a lot of lore a little against Spartan 4’s in general, not just Osiris. I do believe they are much better than the rest of the Spartan 4’s… Since they actually act like soldiers.
Spartan 2’s< Spartan 4’s< Spartan 3’s
… Spartan 3’s were meant to be cheap and disposable sooooo.
no spartan 4’s are not real spartans but team osiris is still cool and better than the other 4’s.
