At the beginning of Halo 3: ODST the original mission was to board the carrier with squads of ODST’s but at the drop Dare change Buck"s squad course to ONI base. My question is was the original mission the same or similar to operation Red Flag? It never really explain what they were planning on doing once they board the ship.Take it over or destroy it. ONI did let that one pass the orbital defenses kinda like what was talked about in the data drop 5. Anyone know anything on this matter because I never really thought about it till now.
“Master Chief, get aboard that carrier, and secure the Prophet of Regret. This is the only place on Earth the Covenant decided to land. That Prophet is going to tell us why.” - Lord Hood, Halo 2.
The Master Chief was making his way to the ship and the ODSTs were dropping for support. Had the ship not ditched, the Chief would have made his way to the Uplift Reserve where in Halo 3: ODST Dutch fights around the ship’s gravity lift landing pad.
