A question about the graphics.

I was wondering if there has been any info about the graphics degrading in split screen. Like in Reach if you play co op the campaign graphic quality becomes terrible to improve performance.

We’ll find out in time, for now, we can only hope that it’ll look decent.

The terrible Draw Distance, that turned rocks into pudding that were 10 feet away…

It was HORRIBLE in Reach, but Halo 4 will be run better, most likely.

Ikr? it was really disappointing considering I have a nice tv and HDMI.

It’s a 360 not a NASA Computer, what do you espect? If it was so in Reach it’s going to be even worse in Halo 4 probably. Just wait for the new Xbox to come out to resolve this problem if you are a Slit-screen Player.

Not many other games have this problem…
Split-Screen was effectively ruined, graphics-wise…

Funny considering games that look great like GoW 3 didn’t have any problem like that at all nor did any of the previous halos.

never had that problem. Or i just didn’t notice.

It was especially noticeable in Reach, but not as much in the other games.

In Reach, you basically had a circle of grass extending a maximum of 30 feet in every direction. Move one direction, grass 30 feet in front of you appears and grass 30 feet behind you disappears. Huge objects like Warthogs just randomly appear as you zoom in or sprint toward them (although they try to make it pretty with a “fade in” effect). Large buildings turn to blurry mush.

It’s atrocious. I can imagine Halo 4 will be worse because it requires more processing power. Even in the current non-splitscreen videos you can occasionally see a little bit of the “circle of grass” effect (although not as bad as Reach split screen).

Such are the sacrifices that must be made if you really want to render everything twice.

The issue ALL of you are describing only occurred with forgable items or extra scenery like grass, since they are not locked in place or necessary to play

No if you played campaign split screen the graphics dropped considerably low to have better performance.

stopped reading here
was laughing to hard to go on

how have you not noticed this lol all the grass and bushes disappear
on every map almost and objects look worse from far away lol

its really easy to see this if you play split screen

I hope this is fixed or at the least better in Halo 4.

The previous Halos didn’t have any problems because:

  1. Halo 3 was played on a 360 which was good enough at the time with the H3 graphics.
  2. Halo C.E and 2 had bad graphics overall, even the Old Xbox could handle that in Split-screen.

I haven’t played a lot of Split-screen in Gow 3 (or 2) but i remember it being good, true.
Well, congratulation to Epic Games. Maybe Bungie should have asked them how did they do that XD

I’m sure that, if this problem is in Halo 4, it will be fixed in Halo 5 on the new Xbox (i assume) still.
