This is a silly and trivial question, but I am constantly being blamed by my wife for our match losses because she believes that my SR number, which is considerably higher than hers, is the reason why we face opponents that are more skilled than she is (according to her, she can do just fine when I am not in the fireteam). I am hoping the community can help me answer a question regarding the Spartan Ranks. Do Spartan Rank numbers have any effect on how the matchmaking system determines who you play against?
I can still get to the top of the scoreboard of our team in most matches, and she is normally at the bottom. According to her though, she can go +10 and get near the top when I am not around.
It’s not your SR that is causing that, it’s your MMR. The game sees you as a more skilled player, so it’s trying to match you against more skilled opponents. This link will take you to a thread that goes into more detail

Edit: I told her to get good and received a death stare with the reply, “You need to learn to effing lose more.”

I might be a little late to reply to this but if you could tell me what your SR is and what your search preference is on I could help. Personally I’m SR 145 and I have my search preference on balanced.
