So, i saw LASO codes appear today in various sites, and now i am going to try it myself! But i would like to ask if LASO is like Reach’s LASO or i need to have the blind skull on for Halo 4! Does anyone know?
You don’t have to have blind on to use the code, but fans of Mythic difficulty don’t consider that true LASO or true Mythic. I don’t think I want blind on either when I do it lol.
Blind was a secondary skull in Halo 3, and so does in Reach, and in my opinion it is ridiculous that you can’t see your weapon…I mean yes toggle off all the HUD and aiming and zoom and stuff…but even in the real battlefield damn i can see my weapon
Anyway thanks for the reply
Just draw a cross on your TV where the reticle would be.

Wrong, Blind IS needed for LASO in Halo 4.
And before you even try, I am NOT a part of the “Mythic” community, those kids called us all hackers for having the code FOR LASO.
We are Section 3. We are the ones who decoded every trasmission from HydrAi and Tetra, so that everyone else could GET the Raider, Raider DSTT, Day One, Oni and etc.
343i Has already stated that you need ALL skulls, that means Grunt Birthday, Blind, everything.
Currently there is an issue with the tracking system. But it is being working on, and hopefully will be fixed an rectified soon.
SO…if you want the LASO emblem, you NEED to complete ALL chapters, including pro and epilogue, with ALL skulls on. If you redeemed the code without doing so, once the system if fixed, you will lose the exp and emblem until you do. (At least thats what they said they’d do, no telling if they can/will)

Those ‘kids’ were skeptical, thank you very much. As good a job you S3 guys have done for glyph decoding and ARG progression, some of you are overly pompous and highly defensive. Chill out before you go off to an immediate assumption.
How would you feel if you were in our shoes? Someone you’ve never heard of just happens to have an emblem which in all rights has already been earned by a few of us, yet it’s limited to the guy who followed the ARG and got given it as a reward for participating. You’d be understandably peeved, wouldn’t you? The other people that had the emblem who had no LASO progress were obvious hackers though and got called out on it, but when your one representitive was criticised before more of us decided to do some background checking, you immediately think that we thought the guy was a complete tool and lying out his -Yoink-. That’s not the case. Once everything was established about 95% of us were like “Ok, cool. Now we know. Thank you.”
If I came into the ARG community with a completely new glyph sequence and had its relevant unlock and gave little to no direct information on how I came by it, you’d all be pissed at me too for holding out on you all. Same principle in our situation would apply in yours. Keep that in mind next time, k?

Not true. Duranu is STILL being called a hacker. And he didn’t come out of nowhere, he was the second person IN THE WORLD to complete LASO (including blind) in Halo 4.
Now for those who stopped calling him a hacker and etc, yes, they did as you said, and they have been appreciated.
If you read the thread again, you’d see that Duranu DID explain where the code came from and why it is not public yet.
The only reason it IS public NOW is because he asked 343i to let him give it out because there were soo many people throwing a fit over it.
And guess what? the Tracking system IS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY, so some who shouldn’t have it, do.
And if someone came into the IRC with a full code and unlock that we didn’t know about…we’d be confused as heck, since all the codes thus far have been given out via the 343 ARG people.
But we wouldn’t be pissed at anyone for “holding out on us” we’d be lost as frick as to where it came from. Then we’d thank you for bringing it to us.
And I can say that for certain because we already had a situation like that, someone found a Glyph we didn’t see in a map and we thanked them for it. Especially since it finished off a sequence for us.
Now, I’m not blaming ANYONE in the forums for anything, not trying to cause a war. Simply pointing things out.
And as a whole, the Mythic community has given itself a very bad name, many members of it may yet be perfectly fine people, I have no doubt of that, but because of certain specific people, you are viewed as rude and uptight, though I would think that not all of you are like that.
Next time, keep that in mind.

That is what I do, works every time.
Alright, sorry if this is obvious, but I see people saying that you have to/ don’t have to do all of the missions.
Can you go on the last mission (midnight), checkpoint charlie and with all of the skulls on except the blind one and still be able to get the emblem?
or do you need blind on
or you have to start from the beginning of midnight
or you have to do all of the missions?
Sorry if it was stated in a different thread or something. I see people saying you can/can’t do this.

All skulls means all 13 and yes all levels must be completed on LASO.
Thanks

To my recollection, two people in the Mythic thread were accusatory. One of which has definitely never done a game on Mythic - who knows if they’ve done any levels - and is certainly not a regular poster in the threads. As for the other, he may very well be insane.
Both Aura and I specifically came to Sec3’s defense after accusations were made - I can find the posts if you like - and I’d like to think we’re far more representative of most Mythicers.
To judge an entire group by the words of, at best, one of us… is ridiculous. It’s not a group where the members are chosen anyway - it’s the simple pursuit of a goal.
As for your ‘kids’ comment - I’m 22 thanks.
EDIT: By the way, Mythicers have been around a lot longer than Section 3. We were the ones that poured the blood and sweat and tears into Halo 3 and ODST, so that meant LASO Challenges were even a thing in Reach. So that the LASO Code and Emblem - and probably future challenges - even exists in Halo 4. We developed the tricks and strategies and tactics that made getting the LASO Weekly Challenges so easy for everyone in Reach, and we’re in the process of doing it again for Halo 4 so that more people can get the LASO code and challenges as well as us - I don’t recall seeing any LASO videos from Sec3ers. So I could really do without comments like this:
> We are Section 3. We are the ones who decoded every trasmission from HydrAi and Tetra, so that everyone else could GET the Raider, Raider DSTT, Day One, Oni and etc.
> We are Section 3. We are the ones who decoded every trasmission from HydrAi and Tetra, so that everyone else could GET the Raider, Raider DSTT, Day One, Oni and etc.
That was nice and all, but keep in mind that the Mythic contributors have been useful assets to a variety of people: trickers, speedrunners, challenge seekers, achievement hunters, even glitchers
I redact my previous statements.

I have to smile everytime I see this, it is too good
Not even worth it, so I’ll leave this.
> You SEC3s did all the work, while we reap the benefits. And yet we still cry because we don’t get everything our way.
> Lemme get this straight, you are flaming me for telling the truth, and you think that mindlessly running the campaign is what caused the start of an ARG, and you also think that it is the reason for the Glyphs and codes?

You’re under the assumption that we think the ARG is centered around us; when the -Yoink- did any of us ever say that?
You completely flew right past what RC was trying to say: the entire reason for LASO gaining more credibility, its more-than-likely inclusion into the ARG to begin with, is more or less to do with our community’s actual persistence with the difficulty to begin with. If LASO died back in H3, you can probably make a safe bet that it wouldn’t have come back. Tyrant was an outspoken advocate of the difficulty, and quite frankly pestered Bungie to give it more recognition, which they finally did in Reach with the challenges. If he didn’t do all that, well, take a guess.
LASO is likely a part of the ARG thanks to our community; it’s not the sole -Yoink- reason for the ARG and none of us ever said that.
Your definition of flaming is whack too; RC tries to be polite about the issue, levels with you and acknowledges that about 2 or so people were the main cause for the hostilities, yet you think he’s flaming you? Really? I mean, do you think before you post? You’re showing me and probably a bunch of other people that you’re just an idiot who’s under the belief that Sec3 is the end-all-be-all. Get your -Yoinking!- head out of your -Yoink- and use some common -Yoinking!- sense. You are making yourself and the rest of Sec3 look bad, not us.
Look, all of this arguing is making both groups look bad. So lets just cool it and stop fighting, as both sides have said, we both exist in order to help the community, so let us help the community and not bicker like a bunch of 6 year olds.
