I’m not trying to stir the pot here, just asking a question about Griffball gameplay. I’ve played several times, and usually end up feeling like I’m the only one not in on an inside joke. The overall object is to help your team put the bomb on the target correct? There are no secondary objectives like hold the ball the longest, most team kills, most ball kills, etc. that affect the overall Cr payout? I ask because it’s rare to play a game where everyone on a given team actually bands together and attempts to score. on the few occasions I’ve scored myself, I’ve heard chatter from teammates and foes alike, harping on me for just doing what I thought the point of the match is.
When I was playing reach a couple years ago, this wasn’t the case.

Let me just say that grifball currently is the WORST game type to play alone. With that said, yes, a lot of the noobs/buttholes play that game type and could care less about what goes on unless they don’t get killed by the other team. Most people just sit there and watch the whole game and don’t do anything to benefit the team. One time it was me and 3 other guys and they sat around doing nothing while I tried to score. Meanwhile, the other team would spawn kill them and they wouldn’t do crap about it. But if I betrayed my teammates, they tried to kill me back even though I scored a few points without them.
This is why I stay away from grifball, the worst of the worst players play that game type.
when i play griffball my favorite game type in reach i often am forced to play with a gravity hammer when i love the energy sword and i am spawnkilled and have afk teamates that dont help.
The game has changed. Whether or not for the better, we don’t care really. I play to kill and win, many boost for Cr bonus but since I’m an inheritor it doesn’t matter. However if I were to try and kill the enemy team when everyone is allies [99%of the time] I’d get spawn killed, so I just make the best of the situation and kill an individual I don’t like but no score. It’s a horrible gametype now but I loved it since day one and I am making the most out of it.
I know quite a few make the game last as long as possible. The more rounds you go, the more credits you get. It doesn’t bother me at all.
Games get drawn out because bombs scored in sudden death give you massive performance bonus credits as well as huge game complete credits.
Follow the advice above and only play grifball in parties of 4 players and then you can have more control in how quickly games are finished.
