Well, when i play Halo: Reach in split screen (especially on campaign) i receive some blurry and a little messed graphics in bodies and objects that are far away from me. When i get close to them, they look absolutely normal! I’ve tried other games and they work just fine! Even Battlefield Bad Company 2 and 3 (beta). So is it my xbox’s card or something else?
The graphics are derp downed during splitscreen to keep the FPS from dropping and so the game doesn’t render too much at one time.
It’s this system called “Impostering”; basically, to free up processor power, far away objects are replaced with a lower-res version to relax strain on the processor.
Obviously, with spilt-screen they have to be a bit more heavy-handed with it to make sure everything can render quickly.
Thank you both guys! I was just worried because i don’t remember it happening in the past…even though i am not so sure!
It’s also REALLY FRICKIN’ ANNOYING in multiplayer, because enemies just COMPLETELY DISAPPEAR!!
Thank you Bungie…

I don’t receive it often in multiplayer. I have it A LOT in split screen campaign and sometimes in the one-player campaign…Not really in multiplayer. Maybe it depends on different things:/
Also this started to be annoying (at least for me) after the TU…so maybe it’s related to the “you can play online campaign without requiring an HDD” thing. I really knew it could be faulty. If it was so easy…Bungie wouldn’t make the game require an HDD!

The degree to which Halo becomes urp-derped is new to Reach, though. Before you could be playing split-screen and have a pretty good approximation of what the full game was without the need to double up.
But it’s definitely worth it for the few extra polygons we have on the DMR! Woo, progress!

Not only do I agree, I feel the need to state that I like you more with every post you make.
Whenever I play 4-player split-screen my screen just flashes and objects appear and disappear randomly,
especially in forge

So that confirms that especially when the screen splits, there is a problem! 343 please take care of it! Campaign is the 80% of CEA!
