I already made several posts about the small things in the game already, but I just think those small touches are what make the game that much better. anyway, on the the topic.
I was looking through the screenshots through another post, and I noticed Chief was holding a DMR in what loooks like a cutscene.
So will the game finally have that small touch of having the weapon we hold in the cutscene and not just an AR?
I’m sure some of you would think 343 would have to make several animations of chief with each weapon, but then again, bungie was able to implement every single type of armor in reach’s cutscenes. although this is may be the case, feel free to mention if it’s not the same concept.
It would add more depth to the campaign for sure. Although it may be a bit much if say MC had a rocket launcher in a more serious scene so I guess in certain one’s hell yeah!
My best guess would be that in this particular level the chief had a DMR to start, and so He had it in the cutscene. Or perhaps this is a quick-time event where all the chief is doing is hopping over a rock or something. It also may have been part of a mission-start cutscene, so that weapon is the weapon your about to get to use.
However, if it finally does recognize the weapon currently in use for cuscenes, then I’d say great. Its a small thing, but can make the game feel all the more realistic.
Halo 2 had this feature, I remember the Arbiter would hold the rocket launcher one handed like a badass( as he walked up to the Shipmaster’s wraith on one of the final missions)
Doesn’t really matter to me what gun a character is shown to be using in a cutscene. Still would be cool to see your weapon-in-use shown in a cutscene though. But not entirely necessary.
However, I bet that MC spawns with the DMR in that level.
