A question about a game-type.

I have seriously been wondering…would an invasion type of game-type ever be possible in halo 4?

I am wondering because even without my elites the gametype/forge maps would be really cool I think.

Nothing official. The community created a gametype called Conversion which is an Extraction gametype where one team has to extract the objective and the other team has to stop them. 343i has highlighted it in their Halo Bulletins, but has never indicated integration in matchmaking.

I think that would be cool, though it would’t be anything like Reach, because you can’t be Elites.
Like vektor said, they made Extraction as a kinda replacement.
Invasion was one of my favs. in Reach :frowning:

The thing with Conversion is, yes it is one-sided, but it’s only a 1-round type of thing. There’s no progression.

You can actually create the progression system of Invasion using Extraction and the labels in Forge. Basically, when an Extraction site appears, it spawns in the crates, etc for that specific zone. If you have 3 zones with only 1 being active at a time, you can set your basic portion of the map to the map you want to play on. Then when it’s captured, you can “build” the next portion of the map on the fly in-game by setting the objects you want to spawn in attached to the Bravo extraction point. I forget what label it is, but it’s whatever label those crates use that you need to assign to the objects you want to spawn.

Heck, you can even build 3 “small” maps and only 1 can be accessed at a time. When Alpha is captured, you can teleport all players to the 2nd area, spawn in the spawn points by the above method, and block the original spawn points by spawning in objects on top of them. I might actually do this here soon just to get an Invasion-type game in the fray.

Darn well I do hope this conversion gets introduced into M/M at some point ^.^
