So I’ve been seeing a lot on forums about the low pop. And it recently came to my mind that this is a play anywhere title. So as such wouldnt it benefit from doing what Gears 4 and Killer Instinct and in a different way World of tanks did. Why not have players on Pc and Xbox in the same servers. I’ve played with my mates from pc on gears 4 through xbox live same with Killer instinct. And WoT allows Xb1 to play with 360 so isnt it possible? I mean from what i know PC is just able to micro manage better and make more fine tuned unit seperations when they group large armies.

I think there wouldn’t be much difference. Yeah PC can micro manage better but most people don’t do that anyway. I think they should at least try a trial run and see how it goes.

See so besides that small difference nothing else. I hope they go for it

As much as I’m sure it would help the pop, I feel pc players would have a slight advantage using keyboard and mouse over an Xbox controller? Although judging from the amount of people complaining about the low-non existent pc population, I doubt it would make a big difference for the effort it would take to implement

I would be fine if social playlists had cross play.

I would not be okay with ranked cross play either. I think if you add ranked cross play you would lose a lot of the Xbox population. That is just my opinion.

So like someone said above you. Social cross play but no rank?

Social playlists would be fine, but I don’t think that would actually fix the problem.

HW2 Getting on Steam would actually fix the problem.

But then that would start the modding question. Which is something Halo Wars hasnt done yet. But it would fix it immediately

We arnt getting it most likely it would be to resource intensive to build cross platform at this point. It would bring life into the game you could actually play anywhere I never understood why people thought making pc cross play would kill xbox. Nobody who seriously plays xbox would leave for one game lmao

Halo Wars DE already has a lot and so will Halo Wars 2 if it gets on Steam.

Allow PC players with controllers to play against Xbox.

I am not sure how to get Keyboard or Mouse inputs to mimic the Xbox controller but it can be done it might work.

It’s different, HW1 was built with relic tech so it runs on Win7. HW2 can only run on Win10.

FYI both the PC and XB version fully support XB controller and KB/M control. So citing control method against cross-play is a null point.

Understandable, but the point still stands. Cross play won’t improve the population a huge amount, somehow getting it on Steam would

Again what’s the difference? Only thing I can think of is Steam’s frequent disconts. But Windows Store can also do that.

Halo Wars 2 could run on Windows 7 and up if they ported it to DX11 which would be likely if it had a Steam release.

It would introduce new players into the game. Few people use/look at the windows store, almost everyone has Steam.

Cross play just means PC users can play with Xbox, no new blood is really introduced
