I am crossing my fingers that forge’s release goes off without a hitch. Unfortunately, I have zero confidence that it will be launched in an unbroken state. I predict that its launch will be plagued with game-crashes, saved file corruptions, faulty integration with custom games, and a broken file browser. Do I have any evidence to substantiate these predictions? No, I’m going by “instinct”. This is just how I feel the launch will go down based on the current trends. I really hope I am wrong about this, I hope that the launch of forge infinite will bring back something akin to the Halo 3 glory days. But, I want to keep this topic around to see how much it predicts.
EDIT: I also expect to see scenery bundled in the form of microtransactions.
I’m expecting something similar at this point as well. I do not have a lot of confidence in this developer. As fun as the game is at its core, this game just has so many issues and it takes 343 so much more time to deal with these issues than other developers. In the end it’s management’s fault. But I am expecting the worst and hoping for the best. I’m just glad that against all odds I am not quite bored of this game just yet. But the game needs content soon. Sooner than soon.
Also on a side note yet not entirely disconnected from the topic: I really don’t see how Forge can launch properly unless custom games are fixed. 343 has shown no signs from what I have seen of an intention to fix them. Just a thought.
The kind of skepticism I demonstrated in the OP has saved my wallet numerous times. (Yes, I know it’s free…the point is about the accuracy of my predictions rather than the monetary value.)
My prediction is to drop this game like I did with Halo 4. 343 has a bad habit of thinking they are fixing things that were never broken and they end up making things a lot worse. There were way too many unnecessary changes.
I would say what can be worse then this beta, but all I here is 343 saying, hold my beer…
