A potential flood mode

A horde survival mode, can support up to 12 players. Wavelike gamemode with flood, players gain points that contribute towards a team wallet, each player can spend a specified amount after each wave. They can upgrade their gun or equip a new one, upgrade heir equipment, or upgrade their spartan. They can also buy Marine AI to support their team. Gamemode goes on until the last player dies.

It would drop with the DLC (not included in the DLC, just drop into the MP when the DLC is launched)

Sound fun or stupid?

I would like to see a dedicated PvE mode.

What you’re describing sounds pretty similar to how Gears of War works and honestly I could see something similar working for Halo.

That’s where I got the idea basically.

I know campaign co-op is on the horizon but it seems bizarre to me that a PvE mode wasn’t shipped at launch especially given the fact that such modes have been in Halo before.

I think it’d be okay if they divided the points evenly.

I think upgrading should be something that happens after every several waves.

ODSTs might be nice.
Maybe as an upgrade.

Yeah, the points you have are divided up evenly based on how many players are in the match

Could be

If they add playable Elites, you could have the AI be Grunts, Brutes, more Elites, Jackals, ect ect. You could also spawn in vehicles if you wish

That would be sort of unbalanced compared to the human side.
Maybe you could spawn all of them even as a human?

Also, maybe not likely, but it might be fun for them to let you play as those characters as well.

They’d need to make the map larger than what we have now.

Sound interesting at seems inspired by other horde based modes from other games. Personally I would prefer a reach style firefight that has a dedicated flood sub-mode. Keep the player count that Halo 5’s firefight had at least although increasing it will be a welcome evolution.

How so? Each AI’s price is scaled depending on its worth

What map? I was assuming they would make a new map for this mode. I guess you could also turn it into a BtB map too

I’m saying that it wouldn’t be very balanced if you could only summon Marines and ODST as a Spartan, while those playing as Elites could summon Grunts, Jackals, Elites, Brutes, etc.

Any of the maps we have in Infinite would feel small for a mode with vehicles.

You could summon Spartans as well I guess. But I don’t know many other unit types for USNC that they could use.

BtB would work, wouldn’t it?

Probably.
I’d want the maps to be more vehicle-friendly though.
However, I guess it would make things more frantic if you couldn’t easily use them.

True, these maps aren’t very vehicle friendly, at least not at the same level as past Halo’s.

Maybe they could add a mechanic where the flood can highjack your vehicles and the guy in the passenger seat as to fight them off, lol

I’d love that!
There are endless ways to implement the Flood into the Multiplayer aspect of the game.

Scenerios where you have to break enemy lines and get to a certain point would be freaking amazing. Imagine something like a warthog run with 4 or 8 Players. The further you get, the harder it gets, eventually you have to faceoff way bigger flood forms now.

On the contrary, you’re allowed to use bigger vehicles too in order to match those huge flood forms. You get to drive a scarab and shoot thousands of them into dust, another player is guarding you with a broadsword.

Damn :scream:

Yeah, stuff like that would really make a gamemode like this really shine. There would be so many possibilities for them to add into it overtime.

İt would be so cool to have flood mode like in the old games.
