A possible Kig-Yar leader for Halo Wars 2.

Everybody knows by now (at least those who played Halo Wars 2) know that the Kig-Yar (or Jackals as the humans call them) are non-existent in the game. Some say because Atriox saw them as scavengers and pirates that would want more profit for less work, others say that the Kig-Yar wanted nothing to do with Atriox and the Banished.

What do you think?

I’ve talked to friends, and friends of friends about 343 possibly including a Jackal as a future leader for Halo Wars 2. If we did get a Jackal as a leader, what would be her leader Powers? Who or what would be her hero unit? What new units would she introduce?

Maybe the Kig-Yar leader would be a fearsome space pirate of sorts, which would be very interesting.

I was hoping for a pirate ship mistress leader, but it looks like we’re only getting more brutes after ATN. Who knows if any more DLC will be coming after that. A drone queen would also be pretty cool.

Halo Wars 2 is my favorite title of 343s’ so far, you’re saying after ATN all content will stop being released for the game? Or just slow down?

They haven’t announced any plans after ATN, so everyone’s assumption is new leaders will stop, and it will only be balance patches after that.

I think they will make new dlcs, the fact that they haven´t said anything about the future of HW2 doesn´t mean that there won´t be new dlcs, we don´t even know yet about the launch date of ATN, so it won´t make any sense that they start talking about a new DLC.

Oh, phew, I don’t want them to stop supporting the game yet, it hasn’t even been 7 months since release. I hope they continue to support it, at least until Halo 6 releases.

They supported halo 5 guardians for almost 2 years, at least i think they will try to do the same for HW2, maybe not for 2 years, but that makes me get good hopes about the game.

Kig-Yar Leader

Units
-Grunt Squad: Lead by two Jackals. Y-ability is overcharged plasma pistol shot that does more damage to infantry and stuns vehicles for a very short time. Final upgrade gives Jackals shields for more health.
-Drones: Made in main base. A small swarm of Drones that function as quick units that do solid against everything except buildings, but do increased damage to infantry upon being upgraded. Y-ability is they turn into air units for a short time.
-Jackal Snipers: Replaces Elite Rangers with a single Jackal with a beam rifle. Functions like a UNSC Sniper unit. Y-ability is increased rate of fire for short time.
-Skirmisher Squad: Replaces Jump-Pack Brutes. Two Skirmishers (similar stats to Elite Enforcers). Y-ability is increased movement speed. Upgrade is Defense Gauntlets (reflect some damage).

Hero
-Skirmisher Champion. Wields a Focus Rifle. High movement speed and high damage output towards vehicles and infantry when upgraded, but yellow against buildings and red against air. Y-ability is Skirmisher Champion leaps away, but leaves behind a hologram of itself.

Leader Powers
-Mercenary’s Boon: Gain more resources from resource cashes across the map (Passive).
-Banished Raid: Increased capture speed and line of sight for all infantry units (Passive)(3 Tiers like Shipmaster).
-Fight or Flight: All effected units gain movement speed increase.
-Drones: Adds a new unit to be built in the main base (Passive).
-Drone Swarm: Works like Anders Ark Defense, but with Drones (2 Tiers)
-Plasma Mines: (2 Tiers)
-Mercenary Support: (Similar to Shipmasters Spirit Support) Drops 2 engineers, 2 Skirmisher squads, and Jackal Sniper.
-Hologram: Same as Isabel’s Hologram power.
-Mercenary’s Consumption: When activated, units feed off of their nearby fallen comrades. The more units that die while the ability is active, the more damage they do until the effect wares off.
-Mass Cloaking: Same as Shipmaster’s

Wow, that’s awesome! I like them all.

Oh I’ve talking about this many times. A jackal pirate could be a fantastic way to bring back and introduce new units, mainly and plainly because we don’t know what a Jackal at helm is capable of, and what he could put on the build-list for a Banished Vehicular task force!
Possibly a memorial tribute to what old and forgotten technology they were used to piloting back when the covenant reigned supreme?
A vampire maybe?
Something more?
There’s endless possibilities to go wild when you put both the words “Jackal” and “Pirate” together, because you can interpret it so many different ways.
Jackal shipriders more barbaric than brutes, Jackal barbarians, shades that could look like pirate ships. Maybe a new playstyle based on using the Vampire? And Jackals? And new units?
Oh, please go wild 343, if you plan on making this, which I doubt you do because there’s two brutes on the cover for ATN-
But still! There’s a possibility, and I intend to ride it to it’s grave.

Well, 343 is listening to us, I doubted they were for a long time, but recent events have proved me wrong. They still have playable Elites to listen on though.

If I recall correctly Jackals are from a Matriachal society. They don’t have ship masters, they have ship mistresses.

If I was here for a lesson, I would’ve loved to hear it!
What “She” could have on the build-list, or why don’t we just say “They” since we’re talking about what a Jackal feels like, not that gender matters at all.

I do enjoy the fact that they are different in being of a matriarchy. Seems quite different for an already weird soldier of the covenant.

I would like it if there was a Shipmistress as a leader, maybe they could be glass cannons.
