A Positive Thank You Post to 343i For Listening (CHANGES ARE COMING)

I know we blamed you for most of the issues related to monetization, but it’s likely Microsoft not you, but you guys listened and I’m actually hearing changes now, a few days ago before the livestream I thought we were living in the dark ages for halo for good.

ske7ch did face major backlash for his reddit post and I know he didn’t say it’d be easy, but the playlists were finally added, and very quickly I might add, thank you.
(Yes I know you said it wasn’t easy but you had to defend the indefensible)

The next thing I want to see is infection. I know asking for base game modes changes how the events will work, but why not just add festive event visuals to the existing events or change the maps appearance like For honor does? The best solution would be to make new game modes, which can be hard, but remember how you pulled that off in halo 4?

The livestream by ske7ch and Jerry was hugely appreciated by me and there’s no way I’m alone.

You guys are finally changing the events to fix them which is fantastic, and you said sorry (I’ll forgive you if you don’t do it again) and you fixed it early enough to actually save the game. Thank you.

I know now that the whales aren’t completely blinding you guys and you do want the game to be good. Halo infinite as a F2P initially sounded horrrible to me, and these first few weeks were exactly what I imagined, before all the promises were made. It’s gonna take a while before the idea of infinite we all have is idealized, but we’re actually somehow making it together.

Now for the players, I know it’s been rough, I’ve been insanely pissed over the whole thing but we’re actually making progress now, we can breathe a little bit easier.

A few things I still want to see are:
● Infection, soon, not almost a year from now.
● Pro league coatings on all cores for real customization, along with visor and the emblem.
● Full Store Catalog, remove most FOMO, since event stuff and seasonal esports skins make sense to be time locked. (If you want to do more removal of FOMO, the best way I can think of is keeping the free event passes around, for a second year with a new one with new stuff and making people choosing which one they want to do)
● Please fix latency/servers/delay and hit reg, it’s really not my internet or anyone else’s. (Add an option to disable servers from our own MM)
● Option to choose input and console based matchmaking.
● Gun balance obviously needs work, but it doesn’t affect comp too bad, although I’m no professional.
● More Content in future passes and less filler

Just I want to give my thank you 343i, because I want to play the game again, just please fix the connection and hit reg issues now lol.

I just hope we stop talking about what dresses we put on our spartan and move on to more pressing matters.

Like what, lack of playlists? Unbearable lag and delay? Gun balance? Pretty sure all of these have been addressed by the community, we know pro players are likely gonna be way more vocal about it though.

Armor has been a trophy system since Halo 3, if you don’t like that people like to show off in this game, idk what to tell you man, it’s like you’ve never played a game before.

“Stop playing dress up” is such an invalid “critique” and I sure as hell didn’t expect it from someone with the xbox catgirl pfp. We all like games for different reasons, fun is subjective after all, and if it’s the way they make money it’s gonna be a talking point.
Besides are you not gonna tell me you don’t have your own sense of fashion in real life? You down to just wear whatever, did your mom dress you up in high school? Do you not shave because you’d have to care how you look in order to do so?
Caring about looks is the most common human trait I could think of.

Xtreme lack of content.

Lack of weapons.

Lack of vehicles.

Lack of modes.

Lack of any real sense of direction.

Like guys, the store is just a hub with cosmetics… its meaningless in the sense that it doesn’t encourage you to go back and play. I’m already bored with this game, and its been 1 month. They could make every single cosmetic free (they won’t, btw) and I couldn’t care less.

Lets move on from the obvious stuff. Melees are broken. Odd balancing (weapons/vehicles). Basic accessibility features (being able to replay Campaign missions, as one example)

Yeah these have all been addressed by the community, the reason why people are nipping 343 in the butt over the game being a playable store is because we don’t want a second, yet more price egregious fortnite.

armor unlocks are as integral to halo’s identity as hats are to TF2. its a system of direct gratification for playing the game that helps keep you hooked. its not essential but bad progression in a good game is a cake without icing.

Also, this logic is extremely stupid.

Does the way your spartan look impact your standings? Does it impact what your K/D will be? How about wins/losses? Lets go to real life, will it help me get a job? get a girl? get anything? No. Exactly. Extremely stupid argument.

When I play chess I don’t think “holy crap would it be great if I could customize these chess pieces” I think “what should my opening strat be?”

Everybody different though.

I’ll thank 343 when I can play more than 2 matches per hour due to unbelievably bad servers, and when hit registration and netcode isn’t so dogwater that I unload 2 sniper bullets, a back smack, and half my AR ammo into someone, only for them to one hit melee me from the front

I have 0 idea why you start an argument over nothing, you really think they don’t have seperate teams to solve different problems?

Also yes, people would approach people more cautiously if they had better armor in the older halos, sometimes people would run default just to trick people if you want to play that game.

A white skin would blend better into a white map if the games outline bugs out like everyone says it does.

If the game is gonna be a playable store, it better be a damn good one.

Yeah, there’s no way they don’t fix it because that’s the one thing that can singlehandedly kill this game.

I’ve been behind people, backsmacked them then they literally teleport behind me and kill me instantly.

Progression means a lot more than just armor, ranks for example.
Problem is armor is all we have besides a comp rank, but not everyone is a comp player.

Sure a game can be fun, which I still think it is WHEN IT WORKS, but progression system keeps people coming back, and having more casual players makes the game more fun to me.

Cake tastes worse without the icing by a long shot btw.

Halo Infinite was supposed to release 1 year ago, it was delayed. Why you might ask? Because fans were outraged over the graphical presentation. Fast forward 1 year later… Does it appear to you that they spent almost any time whatsoever into the other areas of the game? They definitely didn’t put it into content/features.

I say all this because the developers are too preoccupied with petty stuff (like the store/cosmetics in general) to do things that I (and many others) care about.

They cut a lot of content, there’s unfinished vehicles and old Halo 5 weapons in the files still, I think unfinished guns too.

They scrambled to keep what was presentable.

It’s pretty bad the state it’s in, but Microsoft probably didn’t want to delay again, Halo is supposed to be their mass money making IP.

I’m not making excuses but they likely thought that it being live service, “a beta”, and F2P would save them.

It makes no difference to you if you stop playing and come back if it’s fixed a year from now if you wanted it to be delayed, again.
