It’s concept art for Floodgate, Halo 3, so maybe they where messing around with designs for the various forms in that.

looks like they’re getting screwed by some walking green air bags with tentacles.
I recognise that from my ‘Art of Halo 3’ book. The flood designs are interesting, though they probably wouldn’t be too practical for combat, seems like they would trip over a lot. Still a sweet piece of art though.
