Recently I’ve been in a mood to look up random parts of the lore mostly to do with the forerunners as I’m currently reading Greg Bear’s series before reading the new novel HALO ENVOY.
Anyway, I was curious to research who Chips Dubbo was. turns out his my next door neighbour (both aussies)
upon reading the wiki i found that he is either extremely skilled or just one lucky -Yoink- marine (who should be a high rank). this got me thinking, seeing as how the newer books are more about civilians (last light) and laid back ODST stories (Kilo-five trilogy) why not make a novel on Chips Dubbo? could even be a journal like new blood or just a recap of the games from his view similar to the very first halo novels
just some inspiration i suppose
I would read that.
But what interrest me more,is what he does after war,Stacker was sent to the Infinity,so Duboo maybe too.
I would totally be into this idea. It would be cool if it was a Hunt the Truth styled narrative, where it was a reporter investigating something and Dubbo would interview and be an integral part of the story. That way you could have him as a major character, but explore other aspects of the universe and potentially set up some other characters.
Dubbo is, I believe, the true protagonist of the Halo series.
Not only would a novel focusing on him provide great insight into the inner workings of the UNSC and the juicy details of the how -Yoink- gets done when the Spartans aren’t around, I think it might be a good opportunity for some more light-hearted fun, given the nature of the character.
I am also an Aussie, so sharing a kinship with both the OP and Dubbo means I’m all-in for this idea.
