Ok after seeing the Badass hunter of the second mission in the latest episode I for some dumb reason started thinking… “Why arnt the other covies being focused on”, and I mean as a main character, not some random appearance. I Love watching the funny little things the grunts do and loved the Badass hunter as previously stated but a main character who isnt a elite or human would be fantastic. It would also give more personality to Jul showing he cant always relie on his own kind to fix whats wrong.
Here are just some minor ideas
Yarg’lob:A Grunt priest whos age out matches many (He survived harvest… just saying) and is the official Forerunner/Human translator amongst the group. It would be a cool mission to be given to Assassinate him. Something we have barley ever been given a chance todo.
Sharg:A Jackal Ship Mistress and one of Jul’s Greatest Commanders she has single handedly killed A entire spartan Fire team. Unlike more jackals she uses an active camo and a magnum. She is not the kind of lady to make made on a date.
Glim:A Large Golden hunter who is JUls most powerful soldier. His bond brother was killed by a ODST on earth during the final battle. He is fierce and would gladly murder a spartan.
Thoughts?
How about Sarah Palmer or ONI.
That sounds more like an Elite name than a Grunt name. Nubnub would be a better name, or Flup.
Yes, only having elites in the cutscenes kinda ignores the diversity of species in the Covenant army.
I do agree but hunters are just a collection of worms so I would find it hard to make a character out of them, although it is shown that the hunters actually joined the covenant for money and trade routes so I guess we can make a giant intelegent hive-mind from them as I think they are vvery sophisticated

I would like some non-Elite Covenant characters in the games. I think it’d be cool if Jul had a Grunt who was his personal assistant, or a Hunter who is the leader of the Hunter forces, or a Jackal mercenary team.
Probably because they aren’t in charge, at all. Chain of command and that stuff.

hunters joined the covenant because the prophets threatened to glass their entire planet

Not to mention they have been known to meditate or recite war poetry before going into combat.
I was hoping the Hunters would lead a new group of aliens again Humanity.
You know, hunters are cool and could make more combat forms.

No jackal!!! They are my most hated enemies! Hunters are easier to deal with then F’ing jackals. They just eat bullets like no other.

I really like your ideas OP. The other races of the Covenant or whatever remains of it could potentially give the story more depth.

I really think if their was a circle of different species leaders it would be funny
Everything except that Jackal, oh god if I ever found out one Jackal killed a 5 team of Spartans I’d lose so much respect if it wasn’t a bomb or something seriously.
There’s a lot I liked about this level:
-variable combat in cutscene at the start. Last time we had this was in Reach on ONI Sword Base
-badass Hunter. It also makes sense that they’d swat aside a Grunt (too bad they can’t harm allies with their melee in gameplay like they could in CE and Reach)
-the fact that I could skip ahead, retrieve a fuel rod gun, and kill the Hunters with that
-well paced firefight at the end with a nice, pleasant finish (Promethean reinforcements all die in a blaze of glory)
Just 2 things are evil:
-Roland makes another button pushing joke
-defending a console (how does a console need defending?)
And 1 thing disappointed me. I was thinking one of the Hunters was going to be using the Halo 2/3 beam when he was charging his fuel rod cannon up.
