A new way to play?

Im new here(but not new to Forums) This have always been swirling arounded in my head different degree of game mode setup.

Easy- we all know this is Noob Mode right! Get your boring tutourial and guildance in combat.

This mode can be for thoses how are new timers and have no hardcore background( I hate that classfication Hardcore cause I think those Wii-Nutts are pretty damn Hardcore to withstand hours of Casual gaming). The coding is the same there is no massive challenge though. So you would come face to face with four grunts and a Jackel and Minor Elite, this is no problem to a long time Shooter Vet but a Rook I See them Losing one or twice. Lreaning this MODE ALL ABOUT THAT

Normal- A step up in difficutly, You know your stuff.

The same as easy but a little more tricky, Two grunts two jackels and Cloaked Elite.

Heroic- Now this mode is for the Big boys looking for a more skilled base difficulty.

I Know, I Know you saying Im a Pro, but what I hate is the old time game mode of what is hard and what isnt hard. Like On easy you start a level and all it take a Bunny Hop stomp on some beginning type foe and you kill it with ease. But on hard mode I take six stomp and super move…NO that not…!!! that just maddness and i feel Indifferent to liking this game already. But to some they willn’t give up and master the timing and get over that problem but here is my viewpoint.

You now on Heroic face-off with three majoe elites and cloaked one. the weapons damage is same but I up to you watch your -Yoink-. three elite are going cook you slow and the cloaked one pick you off with single shot to your shield-less state. here is another example two Burtes and a Jackel will attack in a stratigical fashion as if they are Hunting you a gruntes loob plasma shell at you from a distance. (You Come with other types of scenarios)

Legendary- Need I say more, this is 300 like Burtal, Blackhawk down Intense the stuff only historians talk about.

Now I going rant first , I played enough shooter to earned my stripe ( personally over exaggerated) but you charater is a spartan not a Fashion model It’s a Lethal killer no a chump. I give a example I come to a grunt and get the drop on it, Pump more that a full Chip to only have it spin around and hit Me with a three round brust then Im …DEAD.!!!

Im Jumping behind cover not exposed a Jackel snipes my Toe and Kill me But a full succesion of shot from a Battle rifle to the face dosn’t kill it. REALLY NOW!!!

A warth tank have no line of sight on me Loobs it Load over a full two to two and half of a football Field and kill Me right so this what gaming Is all bout Half -Yoink- gaming mechanic and cliché type game mode.(RANT OVER)

Now how about You unlock this mode after completing some degree of tasks in game to earn this mode to prove that you are no small time rookie. As for what happen in trem of game mechanics increase set diificulty and heighten amont of ememie type that deal out heavy damage. Like Six Spec Ops Elite pack of two that punch fast and hard no not triggered by a set picece event but surprise not what you see coming. Here a next situation where a warth tank might come into play a Scarab walker and a small battalion of troops to back it up. So I dont mean to be so Long mined but there are some thing that KILLS it for me with this game. So Legendary should be a whole other game in all its makings that only halo has make it strong point ( I know Multiplayer Is Crazy but I like Campaign too).

I think I understand what you’re saying. Halo’s Legendary is unfair. And that’s true.

I blame Bungie’s use of illusions. In CE, if you stand in place and don’t shoot, the Elite will stand in place shooting at you. He won’t be moving around or anything unless you do something. Not to mention that their diving from grenades and throwing grenades are hardly AI. They’re just reactions, simple stuff. Catch skull is what ruins the experience for me. It’s very unrealistic (although it’s still messy and fun).

Ah, THAT is what it’s about.

And yeah, I agree. The game plainly and simply cheats on legendary. Plasma rifles/repeaters have virtually no spread/bloom anymore but basically fire a line of bolts, rate of fire is drastically increased, weapons never overheat or have to be reloaded, the range at which the needler locks on seems to have doubled compared to when you use it, Covies and Flood become uncannily accurate at leading their shots (and I could swear that at least in H2, all projectiles fired by your opponents have a slight homing ability), and so on and so forth.

I mean, it’s still fun. But it somewhat spoils that fun a bit when you seem how blatantly your opponents ignore restrictions that still apply to you.

Okay I will attempt to make It Simple and short.

1.Different type or more intense ways of combat. eg. Easy is EASY( I dont have empty a clip and a half to kill and elite not saying it is so on easy but it is as hard as you make for the lack of skill) which can be kill with a very little skill thanks to it be on Easy.

  1. The More tougher game mode isnt some cheap and cheat way to make the game Harder or More HARDCORE. eg. GoldenEye on the N64 even thought the AI where crackshot On Harder Difficulty It gave You more type extra mission scenario to complete.

  2. Not make the post all about legendary, I try to say is make it seem more Brutal but without that Oh since it legendary You have to hit me with every gun in game and withstand a single plasma bolt to chest which hurts but isnt that Lethal.

But in all I want is variable type of gameplay on each one that meet it difficulty.

If I got that right, you don’t want to make combat harder on higher difficulties by simply giving the opponents more health and/or shields so you have to hit them more often, or increasing their weapon damage more and more. Instead you want the game to become harder by having them use more and more elaborate strategies and tactics.

Is that it? If yes, I agree. If not, then I’m really sorry. I tried my best. =)

I agree too but at the pace Halo is going, that is years from now.

Halo AI needs a serious improvement. Illusions don’t work anymore. They worked back then… (and they still do, but only in Halo 1) but nowadays… yeah.
What made CE so spectacular was that they were willing to risk it and this risk paid off in a revolution.

They did the same with Reach, but they didn’t focus on the AI that much. A lot of things weren’t well thought out and were rushed.

i would like more twists so you will work harder if you have some skulls on …like air raids ambushes more snipers also if you die /when different settings happen so guess, what, its a thing called WAR!
