So I was playing some Halo 4 last night with a buddy of mine, and we were playing our usual, CTF. Well, we found a game and started playing, and after a minute we knew something was up. The guy in our Mantis was headed to the other teams base, straight through the middle, not firing a single shot. What was even weirder was the fact that the enemy team completely ignored him and headed straight for our base. After a brief skirmish, my friend and I decided to mount and offensive, only to be thwarted by our teammate in the Mantis. He flipped us and -Yoinked!- us pretty good and we ended up dying, but it wasn’t a betrayal. He did this repeatedly throughout the game until it came down to us having to Laser his -Yoink-. Needless to say I was booted for betraying this BF. This happened several more times as well! We try to enjoy the game, and one of our own teammates is working for the other team! Why? I don’t understand! What’s the point? You just piss a lot of people off and get bad rep for it in the process. Is there anyway to report these people to 343? Or do we really just have to sit back and take it? Also, has anyone else experienced this, or do I just have terrible luck? If you have, go right ahead and post some stories, I’d be more than interested in hearing some of these!

What a loss.

I like pretty butterflies!!!
You gain nothing in the process. You don’t win, you don’t get any kills, nothing. You finish the game with just about no points and everyone hates you. I don’t see how that could be fun, or am I just missing something here that makes it blast?

Y’know, the whole reason we have video games is for entertainment. Points don’t mean anything. Kills don’t mean anything. Wins don’t mean anything.
Some people just get their kicks out of annoying other people. It happens.
I agree they are for entertainment, but you are given a specific objective, capture the enemy team’s flag. If you aren’t going to complete the objective, why bother? You can always play something else. I’d say just playing the game to work with the other team is worse than a betrayal and there should be some sort of punishment for it.
It’s called being an immature -Yoink-. You’re best leaving a bad rep rating for them so you are less likely to play these moron’s in future matches

Technically they’re not breaking any rules. So it’s a difficult issue to tackle.
The guy was probably in a party with the other team, and each time one of them at random gets placed on the enemy team
It used to happen to me and my friends on Reach in BTB, we had enough members to fill our team in the party, so one of us always got placed on the opposing team. However that person would always fight genuinely against his friends, with the aim to win.
OP; You probably encountered something like this, and if the ‘betrayer’ was a different person, it was probably someone from the same party.
I would say it is a fairly isolated case, and not a ‘Trend’ as you described.
It is true that Halo is full of trolls and idiots - but that is the same with any online games, indeed it is also true in real life.
‘Get over it’ - is the only advice i can offer.
Maybe I was just unlucky then because it happened several times last night, and if it did just happen once, then getting over it would be easy, but when it happens multiple times, it really is a buzzkill and ruins the experience.
