Ok, So I had an Idea that should Cover most of the fanbase and what they want to play as in MM.
My Idea consists of an armory UI in which you choose your player model. There are 4 to choose from.
HUMANS- Spartans and ODSTs
COVENANT- Elites and Brutes
Each model has its own Unique armory. The way it works is that depending on your player model, you will earn credits/EXP for that model.
If you choose to use a diffrent model, your credits will not follow you to a new model.
Example: You have been an ODST for a week and earned 10.000 cR you decide to be a elite, your earnings will not follow you to a new character, and when you change to a new your character your Previous cR/EXP and Cosmetic changes to that Character saves to him/her.
I’d rather there be fewer armor pieces this time around. Halo Reach’s armory was awful.
While it had one or two helmets that looked alright those horrible attachments really ruin it. For example, the Haunted helmet would look so much better without that stupid chunk of steel on top of it.
If they focused more on the quality of said armor then that would be awesome. Halo 3 would be my example of a good armory. While there wasn’t much to choose from each piece had it’s own remarkable and iconic appearance.

I’m all for more variety out of the Halo franchise. I really liked Invasion in Halo: Reach and would have played it so much more if they would’ve put more time in it.
Having more variety is never a bad thing. Have different styles of gameplay for each character.
It would take A LOT of work, but I feel like it’d be really cool and a great addition to the franchise.

Exactley, I want people to look how they feel, and if they are good at any one thing they must look the part. I want to have just about EVERY armor in halo in this armory.
I really like this idea! Maybe, there could be more species. Like flood, forerunner (or whatever the new enemy is) and marines. I don’t think this should affect gameplay, only the HUD. I support this idea so much!
I know this may sound strange but I sooooooooooo wanted to buy armour of films n stuff (AKA storm troopers, predator and so on) on reach, i hope they include things like that in 4, it would make the game fun as well, I know it sounds stupid, but who else looked at Reaches EOD helmet and though Star wars wannabe?
another thing that would make this idea better is that YOU STAY THE SPECIES YOU PREFERRED IN ANY GAME MODE APART FROM INVASION!
you have no idea how much preferring a species and not being able to play as it annoys people.
> I wouldn’t mind going back to the basics like CE, all using the Mark V but being able to change colors.
>
> Ah, how things have changed.
no, sorry but as good as it used to be I couldn’t play like that again, one of the reasons why i play reach so much lately is the customisation I can do, its a thing I’ve always liked in games,
I really think this is cool, but I feel like everyone would want to be an ODST, because the character is the smallest, meaning a smaller target online, this is assuming they all have the same health, and if not, this is more like a class system, which Halo doesn’t need.

For gameplay reasons they would be the same height. not canon reasons.
Personally, I’d rather the armor unlocks to be similar to Halo 3. I LOVED unlocking armor for getting achievements. Even having a mixture of the two would be alright, some armor is unlocked via credits, others being unlocked with achievements. Though I’d prefer if you couldn’t unlock Achievement based armor with credits at all.
In addition: This doesn’t have much to do with the armory itself, but I also want the armor design to be more like Halo 3’s. I love the look of the armor pieces being built into the armor, not sitting on top of it (Referring mostly to the shoulders).

Imo we should just have one player model with its own armory. This would allow for more variety and better pieces. Not to mention I don’t think this idea is necessary, sure it might be better to have than not have but I feel 343 should focus there resources on something else.
