Don’t get me wrong, I think dominion is a fantastic gametype and offered a unique sense of teamwork that many other objective-based gametypes simply lacked. However, it wasn’t perfected yet, and I think that there are a lot of ways it can be improved upon, and switched about, to make it more fun, and more unique in a future Halo title.
I had an idea that came to me while I was playing Halo Wars. If you were to hold a base for a certain amount of time, for example 90 seconds, the vehicle pads would be upgraded. A Scorpion pad becomes a Grizzly pad, a mantis pad becomes a Cyclops pad… you get the idea. These vehicles would not necessarily be entirely different vehicles, and would offer much the same gameplay and tactical advantage, but would simply be an upgraded version. This could also apply to turrets, with them becoming more powerful as a base is held for long periods of time.
What do you think of this idea, and does anyone have any other suggestions that could help make Dominion more unique, and intersting?
This certainly adds more options for the team that holds the base, but what about the team outside of it? Does the way the defenders use the new/upgraded vehicles give the opposing team more options to destroy them or strategize against the new vehicles? Or are there less ways for the team not holding the base to defend against a larger onslaught that they couldn’t properly defend themselves against?
If it was added, these things would definitely need to be addressed, so unless you can think it out more, make it balanced, then I think Dominion is fine the way it is.
(As cool as it is, your idea is not as balanced as it should be[flesh it out more, give a good example or two])

Exactly what I was thinking, Dominion wasn’t a replacement to Invasion. They need to bring back all the original game types from the previous games, that they didn’t include in Halo 4.
Also about the OP, I think dominion is fine as it is, but there is always room for change, but I think that idea is for the worse, rather than improving it. I think if they added this, it may be slightly overpowered, and 343i should look at better ways to improve Dominion IMO.
