A New Spawning In System in Halo 5.

Though I am sure a lot of these threads have been approach and thanked for but I thought I would voice my own opinion on the matter with something a little different. I believe the Spawn In System should change into something new.

It’s nice to see that whenever you jump into a match or just going around in Forge you can see the map based on the Initial Camera position. Taking that into consideration it was a nice thing that was introduced back in Reach. So I thought I would give an idea on what we could have in the next installment. So feel free to post after reading and thanks for looking into the idea guys.

So here is my idea. The Spawn In System on Halo has started to become boring, you have the match beginning and while you wait for the timer to finish your staring into the map where the Initial Camera was placed at. You then start the match and then onward you go.

Now I recently watched the Titanfall E3 demo gameplay and I have to say that, the next Halo should implement the Spawn In System similar to that of Titanfall. If you are confused on what I mean just watch the beginning of this video and you will understand.

Titanfall Spawn In System.

As you watched the video you see the players getting ready for battle. Thing is I would like to see in the next Halo game is this idea:

You start up Halo 5 or whatever it might be called, and hit the start button which will direct you to the main menu. From there you hit start which brings up the submenus such as Campaign, Matchmaking, Forge, Etc. Etc. From there you select Matchmaking and chose your gametype. (Take note assuming 343i removed Halo 4 playercards and replaced it with Halo Reach’s UI) As you sit there waiting for players you can read up on what 343i tells its fans like how Bungie did whenever Halo 3 was out saying “Dont ever give out your password to anyone whatsoever. Period” After finding players after 5 minutes and choosing your map and gametype (hoping that the next Halo will return the veto system or Reach’s selecting system) the timer for the match to begin will countdown which will jump you into the black screen which the leaderboards will appear like in every Halo game we have had so far.

From there, the screen will fade in from black showing the players you were teamed up with. Here players will be positioned (stationary) in the transport vehicle. The ship will hover over the planet as you can move your players head around to look either outside to enjoy the beautiful look of space or the players around you. From there a time counter will start. Lets say from 30 seconds. Here at the top of the screen it will say waiting for players (here players will select there loadouts) after the first ten seconds are up, the ship you are on will slipspace jump unto the planet hovering over the battlefield, in the exosphere. From there the timer will continue dropping as the players will go into a animation and enter drops pods and start their descend unto the battlefield and as they are dropping they have a few seconds to enjoy the beautiful look of the planet, and shortly after the timer hits zero the pods land and the match begins. (Also to state that the drop pods will hit a stationary position and can not be moved)

And if you die on the battlefield, you will just respawn on regular spawn points.

Seriously what do you guys think of this. I will also be posting this in NeoGAF and I hope 343i will look into this idea because it sounds cool and it would fit.

I certainly like the idea, but I don’t think it’s practical, even in Titanfall.

All it really does is tack on extra time to the matchmaking process while most players just want to get and play. You could make the argument that it’s a loading screen, but something as complex as that would need time to load itself. Furthermore, you would need time to pick a loadout (assuming they stick around), and the amount of time required to make something like this would probably get in the way of something else.

This is all speculation of course, but it seems logical to me.

And personally, I don’t like the idea of watching a cutscene before every single game. Matchmaking normally takes long enough by itself.

I watched the video and like the idea, but at the same time, I don’t think I would want to wait about 30 seconds for the match to start each time. Sometimes you find yourself trying to squeeze in as much playtime as possible before you hit the sack and I just can’t see that being a benefit in terms of time.

Well I understand your replies guys and thanks for doing so as well, but I was just saying 30 seconds as an example though it could be shorter but these could be on specific game type and modes like Invasion or something new.

Don’t get me wrong, I like the concept a lot. I just think it would be cool at first but just another gimmick a very few weeks into the game.

Keeping with the example of Titanfall though, I do like how the game changes depending on what part of the match you’re in. For example, in Titanfall, when the objectives are taken, the loosers are chased back to their dropships. I think that’s a really cool concept.

Just trying to make match making a little more fun. Overall the idea is simple than how I tried to explain it but here is another way. As you start up matchmaking, the screen will start up in the ship. As your finding players, they will spawn in and after you have the required amount of players, the match will countdown and drop the players via drop pods.

Also like how in Halo 4 you have those 10 seconds to choose your loadouts before you spawn in, that’s what I meant as far as dropping into the battlefield via drop pod, choose your loadout and as the counter hits zero you are ready to start the match.
