As seen in the trailer for Halo Infinite, Master Chief puts what looks like an AI chip into the back of his helmet. Seeing as how Cortana is currently “rogue,” it seems like John has a new AI. How can 343 add a new AI into the story?
There’s a possibility that it’s just for the slipspace engine and not related to Infinite’s story. However, I personally think it would be interesting (and good for a soft-reboot) if he’s given a new Cortana AI. However, I can see him getting a totally new AI companion being just as good, but it may be a bit harder to pull off.
It would definitely be hard to pull off, but I doubt that he would get a Cortana replica due to the fact that it took too much time and effort to create the original. I feel like a new AI would be needed to combat the threat presented at the end of Guardians. I highly doubt it, but what do you think about the AI that Chief has being forerunner in origin.
I hope he gets a new AI, feels lonely in that helmet.
I think it might just be a flashback.
Exuberant Witness would be great in my opinion. Not sure how, but Maybe she loses her carapace and transfers to his suit or maybe she isnt in his suit but simply in other areas but still helping. She also wouldnt need a big introduction as she was already in Halo 5. I maybe wrong about this but i think she was one of the new characters most people actually liked in halo 5 too.
Exuberant Witness would be a good AI for Chief, but seeing as how she is a monitor she probably wouldn’t be able to be in the chip. Also if it is a flashback, that would be incredibly disapointing. Would it be possible for Mendicant Bias to become an AI for Chief?
There are endless possibilities as to who that A.I is. Cortane the OG, a new Cortana, Black-Box, Isabelle, Little Bit, Intrepid Eye (I have not finished Retribution, so don’t spoil her death if it is a thing, please), Roland, etc, etc, etc. This is what I love about speculation. You can create a whole lot of possibilities in your head for how the story will branch out.
well cortana brought up a new ai prospect back at end of mission 7 in halo 4 even bringing up a new model of herself so I wouldn’t be surprised if we do get a new ai for chief who it would be is the main question I wouldn’t rule out a new model of cortana but remains to be seen obviously
This new AI should have a fight with cortana
I think the point of the new AI is to both combat Cortana, and give Chief a new companion. How they will use the AI from a story perspective, I don’t know.
BB all the way
He doesn’t really need a new AI companion when he has Blue Team.

unless they don’t return which would be really disappointing

Since, as far as I know, all spartan armor is compatible with AI that means that the Created could “hack” the suits. So a new AI would be needed to combat this threat. Even if Chief had Blue Team, they could all be hacked.

I dont think there is gonna be a squad mechanic in Infinite. If they do go for a squad mechanic like H5 I’d put my money on it being Chief, Locke, Arbiter and Palmer. Assuming that elites are playable which hopefully they will be. Thats what I thought was being hinted at in the H5 legendary ending anyway. Either way, I don’t think Blue team are gonna play a prominent role.
He does have Blue Team, but would’n’t they benefit from an AI? Osiris has one. But wouldnt introducing an AI only be adding fuel to the fire when COrtana is offering them an eternal life, if they help eliminate living life forms?
What if it’s Guilty Spark? Yes, Chief probably doesn’t trust him enough to do this, but it’s still possible. And I think the humming at the end of Halo 5 is Guilty Spark, seeing as he’s probably found another ring.

I doubt 343 Industries want to open that can of worms considering the vast majority of people never read Primordium and likely have no clue he’s alive. Or they’l complain that he’s alive. Besides, the humming at the end of Halo 5 was Cortana. Didn’t sound anything like Spark.
