at that green wall, at the top is a wide opening. Its a heck of a toss but it can be done in desperation if you CANT get around that wall. if everyone already knows then -BLAM!- me but I figured id share.

I have tried without success throwing the ball through the small opening on pitfall, nice to know it is possible to score.
If you hit it at just the right angle, it’s possible. Tough to do, but possible. We’ll keep an eye on how it affects gameplay as strategies improve and make adjustments if necessary.
Ive made it through the hole twice, but both times hit the 2nd floor wall of the scoring base.
What I do when i have the ball is to toss the ball at the opponent to keep them from firing at me, while I have the freedom to fill them up with the shotgun. When they die, I pick the ball back up and keep going for it.
I’m bad at throwing the ball long distances.
ya, ive been messing around with tossing the ball at them to avoid taking shots and man, its gotten me out of a lot of messy battles alive.
Nice! I didn’t know…also I am a terrible ball thrower. I took a little bit of time in Custom to try and figure out the angles and whatnot.
Does anyone else feel like they would really benefit from a reticule? I know I am really, really late to the game seeing as how I have played very few Grifball matches. Anyway, I hope to get better at this ball tossing just another thing to work on. Thanks a lot 343!

Passing requires coordination, and the receiver should be expecting the ball, so holding the ball-pickup button as it is approaching is not too difficult. It does take a certain level of awareness, however. Given a moderately aware teammate, passing could be just as effective as it is now.
Auto-pickup results in a lot of accidental passes, luck plays, and a lot of frustrating moments when you are trying to do something else as the ball somehow lands in your hands. Additionally, it is now a tactic used by opposing players who will throw the ball at you in close range, forcing you to pick up the ball, and then shoot you down before you even realize you have it, or have the time to react.
