I think for the medals in Halo 4 it should go a couple steps further than it did in reach.
First off, one way or another, make it so every medal is possible to achieve in match-made multiplayer (i’m looking at you “Thriller”). This should be a fairly simple fix.
Second, have an actual medal section on the service record in game, like Bnet has but on the service record. This keeps track of every medal earned across all game modes (Campaign, MP, firefight, custom) and then maybe have a filter so it’s by gametype as well.
Third, make them actual Medals, not just a cool emblem, so have the emblem with the ribbon/pin or whatever it is.
Fourth, like in Halo 3 with the medals/badges that were set on the spartan screen, make these customisable: Ability to pick your proudest medals and place them for all to see, and have badges earned like in Gears/Halo 3 to be pinned on the front as well. This is NOT on the Spartan (though i don’t see why it can’t be an option).
Have titles unlockable through medals/achivements, again like in Gears 3, and place them like the nameplates on reach.
Just some cool features that should be added, can you cool people of waypoint think of any more?
