What i mean by this is a vote to kick system where you can only kick players if they have done what you are judging them for. Somewhat of a quick trail.
I can’t really explain how the system would work but for those who watch sports with instant reply that is what it will be. So if a player on your team is doing all they can to sabotage your team you could use this system to get them out and list them for sabotage. But this instant reply will be shown to allied players when they die or maybe in like a mini screen some where on the hud if they are alive. If you agree maybe you could press X to get rid of the guy.
But the person who is being listed as a saboteur can also press a button saying it was an accident and if the other players agree on that then the person will still be able to stay in the game.
To known that the sabotage was clear paint the vehicles will team colors such as on their spawn and if the vehicles takes damage from an ally, if a weapon is purposely thrown off the edge of the map or if a teammate grabs a powerup than kills themself as they got it than this system would be alerted.
But we also should still keep the old system for for such reasons if a player has several friends in the game who constantly give them a pardon, if someone is accused of “Crimes” multiple times than they shall be removed from the game.
As most things here this is just an idea to be considered and if you ask me it sounds a bit far fected but if it could be done i think it would be great.
The main purpose of making this is because i’m sure we’ve all had that one time where you ran a teammate over on accident and was booted because of it or that teammate who is doing nothing but trying to blind snipers or destroy your vehicles. Those kind of things have been loose in Halo IMO and has been left to people to talk it out but in recent years it seems that nobody has a mic anymore or are in party chat so it is near impossible to explain your innocence or to get rid of the teammate destroying all of your gear without having to get them to betray you and kicking them out.
So i say new system because the old has some big flaws.
People who deal damage to their teammates should temporarily be unable to boot. Why? Because the classic troll knows that the best way to piss people off is to damage them just enough to make THEM kill YOU and then to boot them yourself. And that is extra annoying for those people. Also, it would allow players to exact revenge. If someone is shooting at my tank for a couple of minutes and setting my engine on fire, killing him to stop him from killing me should be allowed. Also, betrayers should not be able to pick up the weapons of the betrayed- that is one of the main reasons people do it, alongside trolling and it could prevent a lot of annoying betrayals.
> Vote to kick would add FAR more problems than it would solve. The opportunity and possibility to troll people with vote to kick would be unreal.
Maybe so but this isn’t made to be the average Vote to Kick system. Like Ran and Shai said it is for those moments when you can’t stop the other players or if something happened on accident and players have no way to show innocence and have to face being booted.
Its like others where you just label someone to kick them but like i said above this time around they would have a sort of mini trail.
I know some issues would rise like someone being diverted from their goal to solve the issue but since the back button isn’t used much it could be the button used for this system. If you are being accused you. press back for to say you are innocent, if you are a normal player and have this ignore the back button if you want the person gone press it if you agree. Maybe a 15 second count down until the person is removed.
IMO it doesn’t really matter what purpose you think it’ll serve, any kind of “vote to kick” gets abused. Hell, my friends and I vote to kick each other in L4D all the time. Why? Because we find it funny. I can guarantee you we’d do the same in Halo just because that’s how we are.
And I use the back button to check the score very frequently. I’d really rather not have that option taken away or risk voting when I want to see the score.

The back button would be exclusive for the situation and i guess it is impossible to reason with someone who causes the problems from Vote to Kick to try to tell them how it would work.
As you can see, my luck with this is HORRENDOUS. I don’t want to play Halo in fear of being kicked any time I pick up a Spartan Laser or “just because.”

“Exclusive to the situation,” okay. So what happens when you try to check the score and a vote to kick option comes up and you don’t realize it? Like when you try to switch grenades and you get ordnance at the same time?
And please don’t insult my intelligence. I know how the system is supposed to work. However I also know that the system is horribly abused in games that currently have it and that implementing it in Halo won’t magically fix things. All games I play that have vote to kick the system is abused to hell and back for no other reason than it’s simply an option and some people find it amusing. And yes, I fully admit that my friends and I are the same way to each other.

Thats the thing about this, you can only vote to kick someone if they have done something against the team, not just because popular demand.

I’m sure people can resist from looking at the score board for 15 seconds or they could just look at the point counter at the bottom of the screen for that time. Make it obvious that it is there. Like have the announcer guy say you have a possible traitor on your team or something else.
Insult your intelligence…when did i do this?

But you are aware that you basically said i don’t like when a crime is committed but i will do it.
Sorry if you feel i am insulting your intelligence that is not my goal.

Yeah thats why i said the system would have Instant Reply. Since a death cam can be put into the cam instant reply would be possible as well. When players die they could watch the reply and when they are alive a smaller screen would appear if they aren’t in combat so they can watch the screen.
As others have said it gets heavily abused, very much in Ka Fives case. The only game Ive seen with this, that works well is Mass effect 3s multiplayer but even then lower levelled people are kicked from gold and platinum games because of their rank and lack of equipment.
The only system of kicking that would work would be if it only popped up if it was deliberate and nit when it was accidental which is an impossible ideal. You will have to go with the current vote to kick system for now until there is a better way which is years and years off sadly.
Look on the bright-side with the current one you have funny videos of people being trolled on rare occasions which is worth the pain.
If someone is being a yoink on your team just get them to kill you by killing them to aggravate them into killing you again (hoping for it to be fair on you like it was on them) or by lowering their shields, blocking entrances, flipping their vehicle etc. etc. the list goes on.

We have killcams now and I’m fairly sure most people just mash X through them. The last thing we need is MORE screen and audio clutter. I don’t want to have to watch “Instant Replay” or hear some sort of “There’s a traitor” or whatever nonsense that is.
You’re seriously trying to complicate things far too much. And I’m telling you, vote to kick, no matter how it’s implemented, will be abused because of people in general. Is the current system perfect? No, absolutely not. But it’s leagues better than vote to kick.

A very high chance of it being a ways away now but it has to start some where. Remember as history shows many things that were turned down by society turned into our greatest achievements.

Many things that dont work in the past are also not used ever again because they dont work at all. Anything but what I suggested wouldnt be perfect and my idea is an ideal which cant be built up, it happens or it doesnt since its the only improvement upon the current one.
It cant get improved, besides you rarely get abused by the betrayers 95% of the time so this slightly flawed system of booting upon betrayal is the best thing out of all the possibilities.

So far the reason i know that people skip the kill cam is because of instant respawn which IMO needs to go and because the kill cam is at times very far off.
I’d rather try to improve something than get rid of it and it seems to me that you would rather get rid of things than improve them. So far for the time i have known of your existence we have been opposites and i’m sure it won’t change now but i’d rather try to persuade you than shoo you off.
Like i said, the instant reply will only be enabled if a person is doing something that is against the team and has been listed to kick. Only if the evidence is clear that the person is against he team would they be kicked.
Like i said, those accused can point out if they did such thing because if was an accident. If the team who has the easy ability to view what happened agrees than it is done.
IMO every halo player is a multitasker or shouldn’t be so adding one more little thing for us to view and understand wouldn’t be hard.

The game cant tell if it was deliberate and your missing their point that regardless of the footage (which isnt needed since you can already tell if it was on purpose) they would kick them, just because they can.

Like i said it just doesn’t follow those people who betray for the sake of it. like what Shen said those things happen and these this system is made to prevent them from happening. Its not a betrayal boot system its a Boot the Traitor System.
