I think we can all agree that Infinity Slayer is not balanced and completely random. It’s never fair that one team’s best weapon throughout a match is a Railgun, while the other team’s best weapon is a Sniper, Beam, etc. However, this does not mean that it cannot be better balanced.
My proposal, although I’m not positive if this can be done or not, is to limit the amount of ammo in each drop. For example, you only get one shot with all weapons, or one clip with automatics and guns. This is the hard part because I don’t think you can have people start with only one sniper bullet or one rocket, so I suppose these can be made to 4 shots for sniper, and 2 for rockets, 1 for Incin. Cannon, 2 for Binary, etc. etc.
This would still allow for Infinity settings to serve its purpose, but not make PODs so overpowering like they currently are.
> Better yet, just give everyone the same drops and make it a progressive system where you get better options each ordnance.
I would agree with this! not nerfing the drops but make them tiered would be my choice if it had to be something. Honestly I have no problem with them now. but i also would be fine with tiered drops
Removing Laser, rockets, fuel rod, iCannon, sniper, beam, and binary from personal ordinance and placing them in consistent locations on maps would be a big first step.

I would rather see players earn them and not find them. (i am aware of how it has been in past halos) I like the current system but maybe being able to choose your ordinance in a loadout type thing would be cool too.

Yeah, let’s put heavy weapons in consistent areas! I really liked it when people would weapon camp, and then betrayed you if you took the weapon on them when it spawned!
Tier 1
Basically any weapons which are weak (AR, BR, Carbine, LR, Suppressor etc.)
Tier 2
Slightly stronger weapons, but aren’t so easy to use/get kills with (Sticky Detonator, Shotgun, Energy Sword, SAW, Railgun etc.)
Tier 3
OP weapons (Sniper Rifle, Rocket Launcher, Beam Rifle, Incineration Cannon, Binary Rifle etc.
Limit Personal Ordinance Drops to tier 2 weapons, and make tier 3 weapons fixed World Ordinance Drops, with resupply timers. Also, I would suggest the removal of Plasma Pistol & Boltshot from Personal Loadouts in competitive gametypes, and have them as pickups on map, same goes for the DMR (for obvious reasons).
Perhaps keeping Plasma & Pulse Grenades as pickups/Personal Ordinance would work better as well.

If it is a competitive environment, where you form teams with players you know, and battle against other teams, then it wouldn’t be an issue. Players should not be allowed to search for games on their own here.
Well to be honest some changes would not be so bad. I personally think it’s fine because (at least for me) it’s always very random and very rare for me to get a powerful weapon in my ordnance, but then again I stay away from playlists like BTB and focus on objective, smaller map slayer style.

yes its much better now when people pull them from their butts for getting a few assists LOL

Likeing this idea way better I would incorperate a sort of reroll feature where you can cash in your current ordinance drop for a chance for a next tier ordinance but you have to complete a certain challange and get a certain amount of kills to get it. IDK it has to be something thats difficult and challengeing but very rewarding and also has to be balanced to the point that people dont start camping to get it like COD. The tier system kind of stops this but people will camp. I hope 343 is seeing this.
I agree with all your ideas as well. However, I still think the ammo should be limited in these PODs. I’d actually prefer them to just get rid of the “3rd tier” all together because those weapons are truly the ones that break the game.

And it wasn’t camping power weapons. It was simply knowing what time they respawned at. It’s such an easy concept to understand. Every weapon spawns at a specific time. If you take 5 minutes to learn each one, you can have every power weapon you want. You may face another team that times them as well, so now you have to fight for them. But in games where kids don’t know about timing PW it gives you such an upper hand on them. I think I still remember first sniper and rockets spawn in H3… 12:26 for Sniper and 11:53 for Rockets.
