A mode where there are no power weapons

Is it just me that wants a game mode where there are no power weapons or boosts and give an even playing field without needing to play with no shields?

I’ve always enjoyed SWAT but sometimes I want a chance to have a fight with someone for longer then 1-2 seconds. I would like to see a game mode which is exactly the same as normal Slayer but you only have the weapons you spawn with i.e AR+Pistol, BR+Pistol or perhaps SMG+Pistol.

I personally want this as I feel in some games players will just sit and wait for a weapon to spawn then get half their kills from it without been challenged due to how easy it is to kill most people and I feel it sometimes takes away from the experience that i’m looking for in a shooter.

I would like a gamemode that puts everyone on a somewhat balanced playing field and shows the skill of a group rather then who can hold the rocket spawn and blow away the opposition. This may not be what everyone wants from a gametype but I feel like it would be a nice simple gamemode that puts skill and teamwork to the test with no team having an advantage outside of who you are paired with in matchmaking (similar to SWAT).

Overall I would like to hear other peoples thoughts and I know it is probably too little too late for this gametype to be added to Halo 5 but here’s hoping that we might see something like this in the future if enough people want this kind of gamemode.

That would actually be pretty cool. You could worry just about finding the enemy and engaging them rather than having to worry about getting roflstomped by a guy with a rocket launcher.
My only worry would be that, with nothing to get them to move forward, people would start camping HARD.

Your point about an even playing field is strange. Both teams have equal access to power weapons. Both teams have the ability to learn power weapon spawns and locations. You could simply hold the rockets for yourself and blow away the enemy competition. Either way it still comes down to the better team winning.

“But Halo shouldn’t revolve around doing nothing but controlling easy to use, ridiculously powerful weapons.” I actually agree with that point. Halo Ce had it right.

Yeah, you do have a point as I know people can be like that in current modes. It would need some testing to see how people would act when in the mode but that’s the same an any other potential gamemode.

I agree overall that Slayer is a balanced gametype, I’m just wanting a gamemode where you didn’t have to rush to beat the enemy team to a power weapon and instead it is your ability with an AR, BR or pistol that determines the outcome of the fight, slightly mixing things up from the normal gamemodes that are currently available in game. (Granted SWAT is like this but as i said previously, i’d like a mode with shields but it’s the same concept nonetheless).
