A Mic Required Playlist

Almost every game in halo everyone is in party chat or they don’t have a mic. How about a mic only playlist where players finally talk again. Remember the times you used to have where everyone used to have a mic? Bring that back.

The majority of games I’ve been in, not just Halo games, the person(s) with their mic plugged in are either blasting music, or spouting unnecessary hatred towards their team, I’m not opposed to having people being moved into game chat from party chat, but it should be optional, not mandatory, perhaps a compromise would be a secondary ranked category that mandates game chat only so people know what they’re in for.

Yeah this basically is why I never use my mic outside of Party chat / Discord. I don’t want to deal with this kind of nonsense when playing a game in my personal free time. Text Chat is slightly better since you don’t have to put up with the music or kids screaming in the background or construction work going on in the room next door, but you still get the other garbage (And since the feature currently can’t be turned off or set to Friends Only on the PC MCC… It’s kinda annoying :x )

Would be very hard to enforce I think.

What if there was a way to not only report bad behavior but also report good team-work within the game?

So if you have a high communication and team-work rating you can get bonus XP? That could encourage people to start using mics again.

No thanks, everyone has their own preference. Since muting game chat for only party chats with friends, my gaming has been less stressful and more enjoyable. If I want to hear annoyingly stupid, rude and overall toxic stuff, I’ll go to CNN and listen to politicians.

> they have this kind of thing in overwatch. after a game you can endorse people for teamwork. depending on how many endorsments you get on average you get an endorsment rank and it puts the low ranked (the toxic people) with other low ranks. and high ranks with other high ranked player that could make the gamemode possible

I get why mic’s are helpful but forcing it… is not the solution. Sometimes I have to deal with toxic players in-game and I shouldn’t have to put up with players if there being abusive, which is why I stopped plugging my headset in public games and stick to party chat, rarely go into game chat. All I can suggest is just find groups online or maybe a ‘Spartan Company’ that suits you. Plus they can also easily avoid talking with mic plugged by muting mic if they wanted to so forced mic’s only playlist wouldn’t work.

Why would I want to listen to people’s terribly music, their asinine rants, racist\sexist exclamations, or their expletive filled temper tantrums every time they get bested? People don’t have mics because the average player in Halo is a toxic person who isn’t worth conversing with.

Yea… no I’ll pass. It’ll be the same thing I did when MW2 did it back in the day. Mute everyone I’m not friends with. Also hated not being able to mute people in the pre-game lobby on Halo 5 because 90% of the time it was someone eating chips as loud as they could, someone’s parents divorcing in the background, or some trash music so loud that would probably make someone go deaf.

Personally IDC about “toxic” players everyone seems to complain about, I grew up in Halo 3 and MW2 lobbies. Nothing upsets me anymore.

No thanks. If people want to talk, they are welcome to do so. Requiring a mic for a specific playlist sounds like a good way to doom that playlist with a low population

LOL this playlist would’ve had the lowest population from day one 'til infinity.
Those times have been over for a long time already and you can’t bring 'em back by force.
