For the past 3-4 months halo 3 has seen a massive massive rise in cheaters, 40% of my games online involve at least one cheater in the game.
Now I pay £40 a year to use xbox live, I pay £45 to buy your game, I also buy add ons etc… yet you people can’t look after the game which I pay to use??
I expect you to at least ban these people who are cheating on the game, I understand you can’t 100% tell if people are host booting but the people who are flying around the map with auto aim are very obvious to detect.
You are aware that 343 don’t fully support Halo 3 anymore, right? All they do is keep the matchmaking server that controls the playlists running. Thats it.
And 343 don’t hand out the bans (neither did Bungie for that matter), its all done by an automated system and has been since the game launched in 2007. The only way people are banned is if the detection system notices anything wrong.
What modes exactly are you playing in? I highly doubt 40% of your matches have a cheater. In all my years of Halo 3 (7 years now) I can only remember a handle of host booters and thats about it. I’m pretty sure it’s just the game’s networking and it makes you think some guy is cheating.
No joke I get sent so many hate messages in Halo 3 and many of them say stuff like “nice cheating reported” or just “reported” because the player assumes since I won I must clearly have been cheating lol.
They are so quick to place the network lag on players as cheating instead of realizing it’s just the game. If you got out BR’d by a guy and wasn’t sure what happened 9/10 that player possesses more skill than you. It’ not that they cheated somehow.

If you play 50 high anything daily I garauntee you that you will meet at least 1 host booter everyday and at least 1 aimbotter every week.
Even so, it’s better than playing Social where you get kids going -20 and AFKers every other game.

I’ve played my fair share of lvl 50 high matches and rarely saw that many cheaters.

Obviously the amount of cheaters wasn’t always this high(Or the population that thin). It has only been this bad for the last couple of months. I have also noticed there being an increase in messages complaining about the amount of cheaters in Halo 3 on this forum - I wrote a thread myself some time ago too.
