Well, can you give some clear reasons? I have plenty of mine. What are yours?

Tell us how you really feel.

Maybe elaborate a bit or at least explain why.

You guys should already know why right?

It’s not like it hasn’t been talked about before on these forums.

-elongated maps
-dull encounters in said elongated maps
-inability to effectively traverse map while in combat

Essentially because halo has long kill times sprint doesnt merge into combat. You end up having a combat mode and a movement mode. This is not fun.

> Now, Sprint. It may not be the most appealing gameplay option to some people because it increases the pace of Halo (which, compared to all other FPS games is still slow). I feel Sprint really does bring the description of Spartans in the wider lore into the games. I always wondered in Halo 3 why super-soldiers who could run extremely fast, simply walk along even when their shields are broken and they’re being pursued.

No, people dislike the mechanic because it does the exact opposite to the pace of Halo, not to mention that it screws with the flow of it and does not mesh will with the kill-times. The “walking” hyperbole seriously needs to stop, because compare to Military Shooter titles, you moved pretty fast in Halo 3 (despite the ridiculously low FoV).

I never thought the community would actually make me hate Halo 3, but I’m starting to because it’s the game that started all this “SPARTANS R TOO SLOW” nonsense.

Like seriously, play HCE, or even H2A. You don’t need sprint to make the game fast paced.

All sprint does is harm the flow by punishing movement. You traverse the maps in the same amount of time, except you have to make yourself vulnerable in the process.

It’s the most pointless addition to Halo ever. Maybe it makes sense in a large map game like CoD or Battlefield, but injecting it into a game comprised of mostly small, enclosed arenas? Just -Yoinking!- why?

I sometimes feel like I’m alone on these forums

Seriously. Its poison and its killing tbis franchise’s MP.

I just cant wait to see the new excuses after h5 MP bombs.

“It’s a new console generation, low sales and population numbers were to be expected.”

I don’t like ADS at all, that needs to go IMO. Sprint i like a lot, I like the fast moving thats just me. BUT in Halo, even without sprint you move faster than u do in most other FPS at least that I’ve played

What do you consider bombing tho? Because I know no one at Microsoft or 343 lost any sleep over halo 4s numbers.

Only the the community will be worrying about posting treads about how low the online count drops etc etc

It will matter now after it’s happened once, most people won’t fall for it again.

I could see it lo.

Though that makes no sense because population is a % number.

The pre order count show that this game will probably have huge sales. But weather they will hold those numbers like the older games is a different question.

Ok so the I basically agree with all of this.

But since 343i refuses to remove it, lets try to come up with ways to make it work. With as difficult as that probably is there has to be a way to make it work.

If there’s no official support, then it will be a big custom scene naturally.

Hate to break it to you Sprint haters, i’m not saying i’m for or against sprint i’m still waiting for the final game but Halo 5 has been set, planned and it will NOT change it’s very own gameplay. Please hate about Sprint the day the Halo 6 (if there is one) forum is released. No offense but your argument n a Halo 5 forum are completely useless. Also may i add sorint will be toggleable in custom games. Now an argument worth arguing is this: A MP set with a few basic modes in old Halo style online. there.

Hmmmmm the pre order numbers for halo 5 which we have seen next to nothing of AFTER the terrible launch MCC had tells me other wise but time will tell

Except a high pre order count is a bad thing, and that stems with a problem with the game industry itself and not just Halo.

Halo 4 was pre ordered highly too, should we all revere it now? Obviously not.

Also note that people were able to pre order Halo 5 before the MCC was even out. Also also note that people are suckers into getting things are that limited in nature or are given a bonus.
