That would make no sense, they wouldnt use the tagline “become your own spartan” if their intention from the beginning was for gender neutral spartans.
Lore doesnt excuse it either since Spartans 5 upwards look canonically like their gender
Define “woman” please XD
This is a weird line in the sand to take about “butts?”, I think you may be projecting a bit. No one here talked about butts until you mentioned it and it seems that every reply you have given are about these strawmen people you say are everywhere.
Most people here want more representation in the game, I think it is pessimistic to then turn on those people and say they just want “butts”. lol
Give people the benefit of the doubt, I think most people just want to ability to be the Spartan they want to be especially since this game was marketed on doing just that.
The female Halo 5 armor was looking better than this in halo infinite.
I very much doubt 343i believe or follow their own marketing taglines or Halo lore themselves amongst the lies and mistruths they have misrepresented over the last few years.
I believe so, or at least the majority. Friends (male friends) who play pokemon go, GTA, Fortnite, etc choose a female body, even I in some smurfs go for the female body type or character; also believe that there should be a bigger difference in body types, not just “big, medium and small”
I think a part of the reason why we see these threads is that we used to have this option, and now we suddenly do not have it. Be it someone wants to make their character look like themselves, or they want to recreate their Spartan from previous games.
It’s a fairly simple customization choice. I see no reason why we can’t have it back.
First off, everyone needs to stop acting like this is a firefight. This isn’t a personal attack on anyone lol
343 most likely removed gender identification(like ALOT of other new games did), because they didn’t want to get bashed for misrepresentation.
They made the body types make the final decision now because that’s the only neutral way to do it without offending somebody somewhere.
This wasn’t laziness, or design flaws… this was conforming to society’s new standards. It seems that women are catching a lot of the backlash from this new standard.
And I personally don’t think the body type choice is that important because you can hardly notice it unless you stop and stare at a player. That is all. Not for any other reason. It isn’t like a cosmetic that sticks out.
Please point out where I accused anyone in here that they just want butts? Don’t put words in my mouth please
Sorry but every single thread on Steam I’ve seen has been a bunch of “where are the butts” and stuff like that (as well as a few on Reddit and here). There is no benefit of the doubt, females totally should be represented but not just because of their butts
They have had different body shapes since Reach and different armor since 3 and the hitboxes have stayed the same. I don’t hear a ton of people complaining about Yoroi hitboxes. You know that armor isn’t the same shape as the other cores by any means. Are people complaining about prosthetic hitboxes? What about all those people wearing shoulder attachments that stick out of the hitbox? The hitbox argument I think is weak. And if someone uses it specifically for body types, then I’m going to think they have some other issue with gender options. Because your argument could apply to all the options we currently have.
So we should just confine to 343s political compass???
Removing any gender is the solution to inclusivity??
How about including everyone??
If this is a live service i dont see why they cant give us more traditionally female and male bodys, while leaving the neutral ones for those who want it.
And of course you dont care, my question the remains why you posted here if you dont care, if its not an issue then let it be for the players that have a problem with it. Nothing wrong with everyone being happy
This is where I stand as well, to me it was the most ‘gender neutral’ option in my eyes.
This being my first Halo, I didn’t know what the reach bodies looked like-
But on the list of stuff missing from previous games it’s a penny in a bucket of 1000 pennies.
Yeah, if they wanted to be inclusive removing the labels, adding neutral options, and separating voice from body type was probably enough. There was no need to also remove the more masculine and feminine body types of the previous games.
I think the disconnect here is the use of an imagination.
I wasn’t involved with the design choices made by 343i or the modelling studio. I’m just suggesting that may be it caused a problem for them rather than saying it is a matter of fact. Basically I don’t why there aren’t a wider variation of gender models and I agree that there should be.
yes, it is contradictory nowadays, that some people ask for “neutral gender” and the majority ask for representation. the thin line of what is “socially correct” at some point you gotta go Dave Chapelle.
Ill also just imagine that my reach spartan in infinite has all the armour and colours from reach on too while im at it.
Spartans are indistinguishable in multiplayer aside from voice, it would feel nice to visually represent the gender im choosing to play as
I didn’t have to use my imagination when 343 kept making promises about customization, they painted a pretty vivid picture. About how there would be tons of customization. How it would rival Reach. How there would be millions of customization options day one. They fell short of those promises. And I feel this is one of the areas where.
343 lied to all of us about the depth of Infinite’s customization, not just those who feel misrepresented.
I agree. They really did.
