If anyone has read the HR: covenant graphic novel, spartans board a covi cruiser and carry a nuke on board… What caught my eye is that they keep the nuke on their back and can function normally, but maybe without storing a secondary large weapon.
So i was thinking in H4 assault, teh bomb should be carried as a secondary weapon would be. It would need to be switched with Y to be armed but the bomb carrier could act like normal. I think this would drastically speed up bomb games and really would only make sense. Attacking teams are already at a disadvantage since it is always easier to defend than attack, but add in the fact that bomb carriers are usually useless its often a 3v4 unless the bomb guy drops the bomb. Also the innability to drive with the bomb is IMO dumb. In CE we could always drive with the flag and I and many others view objective in CE to be the most fast paced and fun.
I know many here will say Gameplay> realism but can anyone tell me how making the bomb carrier virtually useless helps gameplay? id day 90%+ of online btb or objective games are between randoms with no mics and not full teams. Most coordination is by accident and lets face it its not the funnest being the bomb guy. Allowing the bomb carrier to fight and drive would make being the bomb carrier more fun instead of being a chore and make bomb games fast paced. Maybe if changes like this were made team slayer wouldnt be the number 1 gamestyle enjoyed or wouldn’t often be picked over objective in BTB.
This change would allow one man to make a difference instead of relying on no mic randoms who think driving around hemm on mongoose trying to splatter is better than giving you a ride with the bomb. If anyone played alot of CTF on blood gulch on CE you know how fast paced objective was in that game. Halo needs to go back to its roots and this is one innovation that would act to make the game faster. And as CE-H2 and COD has shown, fast paced is what most modern gamer wants.
Idunno, might make it too easy to plant the bomb, whenever I play Assault, both teams have always seemed to be able to plant the bomb just fine. It’s more fun when you have the ‘bomb-guy’ because then the team has to think about working around how to get him to the other team’s base in whatever kind of fashion. Plus, the bomb carrier has the one hit melee kill ability, which helps them in close-quarters situations.
If it was implemented, however, I think the player’s speed would have to be somewhat slower still, and I’m not sure about driving vehicles, I really don’t think they should be able to do this either for the sake of balance.

did you ever play halo 1? flag guys could drive and the CTF games were intense and fast paced. much more so than in H2 and beyond.
I dont see how it would be easier to plant the bomb seeing as its 8v8 or 4v4, kill them before they get to the base, its that simple. The better tear wins now instead of it being an unfair edge in 1 bomb games where its more like 4v3 or 8v7 since the bomb guy is useless.
also i dont know about you but whenever you go against a group of players where one just camps in the base on hemm all day with a shotgun it gets ridiculous. it would be much better if the bomb guy could function as a combatant and if he wants the 1 hit kill he could just push y and bring out the bomb to melee.
I know gameplay over realism but it makes no sense for a spartan to get slower holding something the size of a basketball. It takes me out of immersion and is just silly.
I think its a cool idea for a bomb variant of speed-flag. I would still want to see the older holding-bomb-and-slower-moving carrier style, however, since I found it fun myself.
