I’m a little confused, was playing a game of infection, came in second and then when I went to to MM lobby I was banned for 12 minutes for going idle on too many games?

I got booted when I had to use the bathroom a few games ago, but thats it…

you got three DNF on your record in one day three strikes. You probably got banned mid match cause ther was a delay in the ban.
