So I was playing some old games from my back burner pile and I picked up Bioshock 2 and gave the multiplayer a look. (amazed people still had matches going on but eh)
The first thing that caught my eye instantly was the prolouge section you had the option to go to a section called “prolouge” It’s a small hub area you can walk around in and change about your character and loadouts but also has a little bit of the story of the world you in (the audio messages for example) that you unlock as you progress.
heres a video example
Now imagine this, you boot up multiplayer and you can hop straight on in and start earning your points and medels… but you have the option to go to a room in the infinity like the one in bioshock 2 that acts as your spartans quaters on the ship in his/her downtime. In there you can customise armor, loadouts etc (all that can also be done in multiplayer menu) but also has optional story things like datapads or videos for example (telling you about the inifity and info you unlock through say spartan ops and campign maybe) and when you’re done you exit into the playlists menu and can return if ever you wish to see any new story stuff that opens up.
The thing is completly optional and dosnt impact multiplayer at all but lets players who want story (one of the reasons I and a couple of my friends stick with halo over others.) Its a fun little thing to jump into to see the world you’re in, get immersed and learn more about the game outside just halo 4 (have a lead to waypoint option in the form of a computer on your spartans desk for example or having a leaderboards you can configer to follow you vs friends or you vs world )
Anyway just wanted to voice the idea. Tell me what ya think and got any ideas about it?
