I don’t know if this has been mentioned repeatedly, but, after going back to my Halo 3 fileshare and comparing the screenshots from Halo 3 vs. Halo Reach, I really miss how Halo 3 pics always had that nice color and shine to them. Sure, Reach may look more mature and gritty, but I feel that takes all the fun out of taking screenshots for your fileshare.
Does anyone else feel that Halo 4 should go back to Halo 3’s colorful look?
I agree with you in some ways, but in others, I much prefer the Atmosphere Reach carries. So all I can really say is that they’re both good, so maybe 343 can find a balance, an option to switch between them, or their own style.
More color, but with atmosphere and a mature look to them. Halo 3 was a little cartoonish.
also a new and better art style. Reach’s art style was ugly.
I personally really like Reach’s art style.
Really liked how the Spartans were done. Gave them more of a war look. Instead of being shiny toys that seem to have come out of Toy Story.
While I love Reach’s darker feel that fits extremely well in that game, I do prefer Halo 3’s nice bright colours and I hope Halo 4 goes back to that art style.
Personally, I’d like a balance between the two. Halo 3 was a little too bright at times, what with the Spartans looking like toys, and Reach a little too dull in some places, such as the level, Pillar of Autumn.
I always enjoyed Halo: CE because of the vibrate colors it had, especially like in the level Halo. But as the series went on I felt that it was being drawn into the realm of gritty brown shooters like pretty much every other shooter out there. I just hope with the new series that the colors are as vibrant as in the original, especially with how well it was redone in Anniversary.
it could be better if they add both (like 5 shade of a color instead of 3) and for elites, they are kind of white for Reach, in Halo 3 they are more colorful wich i think is better…
I would like to see an art style that’s close to what we had in Halo 3. For me Halo 3 didn’t look cartoony and Halo Reach looked very dull, but I think that a bit lower amount of coloring would be good than Halo 3.
I feel as if Reach’s color scheme would have looked and felt perfect if only the graphics were really good.
Like, dark and gritty only works out good if everything looks realistic. While Reach did have pretty good graphics compared to previous Halos (and not to mention an AMAZING game engine), it still could have had a lot more detail.
I feel as if I’m rambling. Hopefully someone will relate to my rambles
Halo 3 nailed it. It had the perfect amount of color. Anniversary goes a bit overdone though to be honest. It’s beautiful, but theirs just a little bit too much color.
I think H3 and Reachs colour schemes were great in their own way. I would like to see something different in Halo 4 again. A bit more of a progression with the artistic side of Halo.
