A little disappointed in Forge objects...

I’ve just read the new bulletin and I am kinda disappointed that there aren’t many unique objects for the 3 Forge enviroments.

Lets see what they added new and what unique pallete they have for each of the 3 Forge maps.

Impact:

Structure - Impact
Station, Console
Station, Core
Station, Corridor
Station, Ramp
Station, 90
Station, 45
Station, 4 Way Lrg Cap
Station, 4 Way Lrg
Station, 4 Way
Station, T
Station, Airlock
Station, Transistion
Station, Door Jam
Station, Door Jam 2
Station, Airlock, SML
UNSC Tower
UNSC 2 Story
UNSC 1 Story
Silo 1
Silo 2

Silo 3
Central Floor Cap

Nature - Impact
Rock, Small
Rock, Flat
Rock, Medium 1
Rock, Medium 2
Rock, Spire 1
Rock, Spire 2
Rock, Seastack

I’m glad that Impact got a lot of objects, but not much variation imo. And they just used the nature objects from Reach. Why couldn’t they add some more new rocks themselfs, or trees?

Ravine:

Structure - Ravine
Artifact Base
Base 1
Base 2, Left
Base 2, Right
Bridge Wall
Catwalk 1
Catwalk Lip

Nature - Ravine
Rock 1
Rock 2
Rock 3
Rock 4

Seriously… this is almost nothing. The most we will use are probably Reach’s Forge pieces.

Erosion:

Structure - Erosion
Pipe, 1x2
Pipe, 45
Pipe, Cross
Pipe, Curved
Pipe, End
Pipe, Slanted
Pipe, Y

Nature - Erosion
Rock, Flat
Rock, Medium 1
Rock, Medium 2
Rock, Seastack
Rock, Small
Rock, Spire 1
Rock, Spire 2

Only pipes. Guess we will mostly use the Reach objects again. >_>

And now the new stuff they have added. Exluding Dominion and some other obejective stuff.

Scenery Objects
Folder Chair

Barricades
Barricade, Small
Barricade, Large
Jersey Barrier
Jersey Barrier, Short

Crates
Crate, Small
Crate, Large
Crate, Packing, Small
Crate, Packing, Large

Container, Open, Large

Sandbags
Sandbag Pile
Sandbag Single
Sandbag Triple
Sandbag Group

Pallets
Pallet
Pallet, Large
Pallet, Metal

Explosives
Fuel Canister

There we go. All other objects are the same from Reach’s Forge World. In my opinion 343i could’ve done better by adding more and unique objects. They only added a few new more objects, the rest is just re-skinned Reach objects.

I’m kinda sad about this, but I will still enjoy Halo 4 Forge!

Agreed- I’m dissapoint.

Like I get what you are saying and I don’t mean to detract from it-

but really, we ask for new environments AND if not ESPECIALLY Forge pieces/types.

They only met us halfway, we get unique maps but all the pieces are the same, not even just from Reach but from map to map.

I mean at least give each map different themed/skinned objects. Yes the grey Forerunner got boring- but don’t REMOVE it. Give us a human map, a Forerunner map, and either a covenant or natural-construct (stone for example)themed map.

Guy directly below is right though. I want to give them credit for improving Forge itself- but that’s another thing I wanted to touch on. Most of the maps looks so bad for Forge. Like IMO Impact is the best. The most appealing spaces to forge on Erosion and Ravine are away from everything on the actual map (besides maybe the GB court).

Well, although I’m a bit disappointed as well, there was nothing wrong with the objects in Halo: Reach.
I rather have an improved Forge than the same Forge with just new objects, they could have done worse…

I agree some more peices would have been nice but…

I’m glad that Impact got a lot of objects, but not much variation imo. And they just used the nature objects from Reach. Why couldn’t they add some more new rocks themselfs, or trees?

…it’s an asteroid. How much asteroids do you know of that have trees on them? 0_o

Asteroid trees. Space trees.

Nah, I meant it mainly for the other 2 maps, Erosion and Ravine.

They could’ve added space trees. There’s no need to be close-minded…

And this is just another reason why Halo 4 needs to be made for PC. People could make their own forge objects and share them. There would then be THOUSANDS of objects to use in forge. I think that Microsoft would be SCARED of a situation like that.

Ah, gotcha. Yeah trees would have been cool for the other maps.

Yes we got 3 amazing different Forge enviroments and I’m glad about that. But they could’ve been better…

Don’t get me wrong now, I love the 3 new maps. But I hoped for this kinda…

If like you said we got a Forerunner map, Covenant map and a ehmm… lets say a desert map then I would’ve liked that all the objects in those maps got the fitting textures too for those maps.

So all of the objects on the covenant map would have covenant skins and textures. Same goes for the Forerunner and desert map.

Luckily the re-skinned objects from Reach kinda go with all 3 maps. But they wouldn’t go with a covenant map or desert, jungle map.

Get what I’m saying? :stuck_out_tongue:

Here it comes… The whining about forge now…

> Here it comes… The whining about forge now…

Hey, just stating my opinion.

> Here it comes… The whining about forge now…

These are all valid intelligent arguments and valid opinions so that 343 may improve on the mode in future games. If anything, you’re the one whining.

I want to be able to forge living room furniture so I can play the floor is lava. Because I can’t anymore :frowning:

So 100% no Falcon/Hornet anywhere.

weeps quietly

They spent a 100 million dollars on the thing. They probably just didn’t have room.

> They spent a 100 million dollars on the thing. They probably just didn’t have room.

That wasn’t all for the game. What do you think the live action videos cost such as FUD? And the CGI trailers?

Seriously? It doesn’t matter where the money was allocated, the point is with such heavy investment, upgrading one system for a little more variety seems like a pittance in comparison; that, and they repeatadly commented on their lack of disk space.

We really need a proper map editor in Halo 5. Forge just doesn’t cut it any more.

> We really need a proper map editor in Halo 5. Forge just doesn’t cut it any more.

Amen to that.

Forge is all we ‘should’ get. For one, it helps with theme constructions, and for two 343 still has map packs to sell.

> We really need a proper map editor in Halo 5. Forge just doesn’t cut it any more.

Hopefully the new console will make this possible!
