A little confused

I’ve seen people complaining about the challenge XP system for halo infinite and I’m not entirely sure how it works yet. I haven’t had the time to keep up with all the news so can anyone describe to me how it works? Much appreciated!

Each day/week you have a finite amount of challenges to complete in order to progress your battle pass. Once they are done, there is no way to progress until the next reset, unless you pay to advance your rank.

They are being unintentionally vague I think. You could interpret what they say about earning XP in two ways: It only comes from challenges, or it comes from challenges and also simply playing matches.

My opinion… Everyone is arbitrarily worried about the xp system based on how it functioned during the technical preview, even though it likely won’t function the exact same way at full release.

MCC and H5 both allow XP progress outside of completing challenges, so I don’t think there’s real evidence that Infinite will function differently from that.

(There will likely be a daily or weekly max XP gain though based on those two examples I gave, and I do think having a limit of those types is lame)

Edit: I posted this before reading the inside Infinite and uny’s post that only challenges award xp. But his phrasing makes it seem like some challenges will just continually refresh after completing them, so I still feel like my sentiments are semi valid

Do your challenges and play the game and you’ll rank. I think people are reading a little too into it.

People are just looking for the next reason to be upset and trash 343 essentially. I think they have done a pretty great job so far.
