Beyond any connection issues or how people love/hate the REQ system, there are a few things I would like to point out and suggest changes for in Warzone Firefight.
1. Improve respawn locations
This is especially important for when you get into later rounds. It’s already bad enough when you have a 30-second respawn time, but when it also places you in a spot where you have to spend ANOTHER 30 seconds running to the fight, any deaths you suffer (which can come easily when you’re fighting Swarmlord Hunters or Warden Eternal) pretty much mean you’re screwed. Respawn spots should be closer to the action so you can rejoin the fight more readily, and not get an extra “return to combat” delay.
2. Better indicators for where enemies spawn
One of the worst things in Warzone Firefight is when you can’t find your targets (kinda like when you can’t find your sheep in Age of Empires 2 HD). Yes, when there are few targets left the chevrons show up, but that’s not early enough, especially when your team is combing the map and finds nothing, causing you to lose because time runs out. What a kick in the balls. I’d have it so that if no one scores any kills or fights any enemies for, say, 20 seconds straight, the game should point out the general location of the nearest enemies (not where they are exactly, but the area where you should look).
3. Less reliance on Scorpions, Mantises, Wraiths, etc., to kill Mythic bosses
Up against 2 Warden Eternals again? Pray someone has a Scorpion or you’ll never kill them in time. Even if you take out strong weapons like a Spartan Laser, the ammo limitation means you’ll still be unable to kill those bosses, even if you can damage them. I’d personally like it if when you fight 2 Wardens, they could be a tad less durable, as hitting weakspots on them is very hard when all their nearby Knights are ripping your team to pieces and the aforementioned respawn problems get in the way.
There’s probably other things that could improve Firefight, but this would be a good starting point.
