So as a long time screen shot maker and signature maker, I feel the lack of the ability to take a screen shot in theater mode saddening. I also find that not being able to view your forge games in theater also slightly annoying.
Like we’re these features left out on purpose or what? Obviously the file share system is a work in progress but the others arent. Kinda ruined what I usually do with forge
EDIT: Just as a small example we made sigs, which look like and are these.

yeah just get a buddy to screen shot your spartan if thats what you want.
Gotta be like:
“hey there, wanna help me with this camera?”
and they will be all:
“Sure thing hun”
OH -Yoink- WRONG SCRIPT!!

Double tap your XBOX button and Press Y.
Or if you have a Kinect; tell your xbox to “screenshot that”

I think it’s not so much “lazy” as “redundancy”.
The system is already in place and shares it on your activity feed for all to see; no need for a separate system with an alternate viewing route.
People always seem to forget the tools at their disposal. Use snap to take a screenshot or even a video. 343 knew the xbox had this feature, so they spent no time recreating it in their game.

That’s not the point. It’s no excuse for missing a feature that has been a staple of Halo for the past few generations.

Do you not hear yourself? The xbox is built for this feature already…

Why would they take time to work on something that is already a feature on the console, instead of actually putting content into the game? That’s like saying “Hey, instead of a new map could you just build a party chat system into Halo so that I can just listen to my friends and no one else?”

Not that simple the features I’m talking about were for making signatures in halo 3 and halo reach.
You know the nice looking words or names people made. Basically we needed to have the boundaries open in spartan mode then fire weapons go into theater and look through that weapon shot.

Because the screen shots I’m talking about were a huge part of halos file share system back in reach and halo 3. Remember how many people had word screenshot with nice colors and stuff? Guess who made that? We did, and our features and tools we used are now taken out and forced to use the Xbox built in ones. Which don’t allow for what we did. Not saying we were the majority but people liked our artwork and now we can’t do said art work for many reasons.
Edit : an example of what I’m talking about we made these pictures

People always seem to just assume what others know and don’t know. Not once did I say the Xbox didnt. Halo 5 doesnt.
Yes I can screenshot from xbox. And record from xbox. Do I want to? Sure for game play clips. Not for in game artwork that was a decent part of halo 3 and reach. Can you go and view the bullet being shot by a gun and go into it before taking a screenshot with the Xbox feature? No? Okay then.
Can’t tell you how many people messaged me or another sig maker asking to make a sig with their name on them.

Actually not entirely true. Xbox has a limited feature for recording games for up to around 5 minutes. Classic theatre allowed the full game to be recorded, which means they could essentially take bits of the game at any points they chose to then save them out so no Xbox One does NOT have the feature already. This could have meant the player could check the recordings and take multiply snippets of the video or images then put them into something like the video manager on the Xbox.

As long as we have theatre, any screenshot that could’ve be achieved in previous halo games can be achieved in this game (theatre features allowing). The only difference is, instead of pressing one button on your controller, you’re pressing two. Anything on the screen will get captured into the screenshot. One piece of it will not simply disappear because we’re taking the pic differently. If you couldn’t see that bullet in theatre, then that’s a problem of the game, not how you’re taking the pic. All of the screenshots in that youtube video had effects on them that were made by theatre, not because of the way they took the screenshot.
Even then, all you have to do is go to xboxdvr.com or any other way to get said shot, download your screenshot and then give it all the photoshop treatment you want on your computer before uploading it to wherever. Can you get it back into halo? No, and as of now, it would be useless anyway because we can’t share screenshots on our file browser.

That’s not what I’m saying. Yes I can screens hot on xbox. Yes we don’t have a screens hot in fileshare. I said that on the op. I’m also saying that the feature is something that I’m disappointed in. This thread is about that. The lack of the ability for us sig makers to express our abilities. No we didn’t use photoshop all was done in game. I’m bring this up to try and she’d light on a feature I’m sure a good amount of people in game would appreciate being back.
How many people in halo 3 did you see with a sniper god or Canada sig on their fileshare? Me alot. Wanna know who made those? US sig makers. Two of my closest friends on xbl.
How many people on reach downloaded our sigs? I know plenty that had over 10k downloads in its lifetime. And plenty with over 1k unique downloads on the first week.
I know the most popular screenshots weekly were at least 25% made up of our sigs.
