AS you guys remember… Halo 3 ODST brought us the EXTREMELY addicting Firefight mode which pit us against Swarms of covenant troops.
I was thinking… what if we were to implement Good old FireFight into a fun Spartan ops for halo 5?
We could Do it in a similar way to Star wars Battlefront ( heres a link if you want to see how that games… normal modes work Star Wars: Battlefront Game Modes | Star Wars Games | Fandom)
We could Have a group of Spartans with an access to Defense turrents… Warthogs… mongooses… and the typical UNSC armory, while the Covenant (or promithians) can have Banshees, Wraiths, ghost nad more… Unlike normal halo game modes there would be distinct classes… each with a different purpose…
For UNSC:
Artillery: Consists of The rocket launcher, explosive perks, and a magnum as a side… They will be considerably slow but will be able to deal great damage and have large amounts of health
Recon: will hold a sniper rifle, camouflage, stealth perks, and a magnum as a side weapon… They will be able to scower the map in stealth with the risk of a medium speed and small amount of health.
Foot solder: Contains Choice of Battle rifle or DMR, hardlight shield, and radar based perks… will be the all around utility class… not best at 1 perk… but good overall
Scout: contains shotgun, increase in base speed, large supply of grenades… This class will be great flanking the enemy and can land punishing blows on multiple grunts or Elites with a shotgun… While managing the lowest health amount of all classes
Medic: will hold assault rifle, standard magnum, Auto sentry and regeneration field( will be able to throw it in the direction of teammates)… Will be able to provide defense with a sentry and use quick regenerating regen shields to help aid in the fight… will be able to deploy a overshields,1 every 5 minutes… at the cost of low health and speed…
You would compete in large maps against A.I covenant or other forces in defense of a base… Otherwise its similar game rules to the Original firefight… Leave comments below over what you think of this version of firefight…
I like this idea, and I think it would add an interesting element to the game, but you have not specified the “Classes” of the other Factions.
What to the Covenant have? What abilities do they possess? Is each species a class? Or are they just through ranks of Elites?
And what about the Prometheans? Is each Class a rank of Knight? Do some classes allow for Watcher assistance, can a certain class summon Crawlers for support?
These are things that must be established, because this is a very good idea and I’d hate for it to be left unexpanded.
Fine. As long as I can customize the HECK out of it just like in Reach, I’m cool with this.

considering how its class based… it would be pretty limited in that catigory

Thanks… I thought positions for other classes would be kinda obvious to longtime halo players 9elites… brutes… grunts… ect.) but ill see if I can come up with ideas for those classes

Then no. I don’t want it. Might as well just put SpOps back in.

We could do that in Custom Games. Sorry man. Customization is why I ditched ODST Firefight for Reach Firefight. I will say though that ODST FF felt more polished and was great for 4 players. Besides the skulls though, there was no customization whatsoever and this bugged me to no end.
This would probably only work if we were playing as Marines. So ODST health packs then.
Classes:
-Recon: Unarmoured marines from Halo CEA, DMR, Magnum, Grenades
-Soldier: Regular Marines, AR/BR, Magnum, Grenades
-Scout: Shotgun, Magnum, Grenades
-Medic: SMG, Med kits
-Heavy Trooper: Armoured Marines from CEA (extra armour + lots of large ammo pouches) Rocket Launcher/Railgun/Spartan Laser/SAW, Magnum, Grenades
-Jump Trooper: AR, Magnum, Grenades, Jet Pack (w/ slower recharge)
-Platoon Leader: SMG, Magnum, TacPad (Displays enemy troop movements similar to the ODST VISR, shows squad status), can only be one
Basic Traits:
-slower movement speed, can sprint (not very fast though)
-Damage resistance varies depending on which class is chosen i.e. Recon as the lowest, Heacvy as the highest, Soldier is average.
-Medkits needed to restore health
-No “Stamina” system (ODST)
