Whoever said the sidekick remains accurate while spamming is wrong. The sidekick has very low bullet mag. Even when using a controller.
No RRR literally only stops ahk scripts that shoot when then reticle goes red, and thatâs such a basic script with such little advantage that itâs not even worth trying to stop. I mean a script that shoots when you are aiming at someone is just barely better than the average player. Itâs not worth losing RRR over.
And for cheats that actually do the aiming for you, those need to be advanced enough to actually identify players, so they donât need RRR as part of the cheat, so this change doesnât do anything for that. Once again, not worth losing RRR over if it doesnât stop real cheating.
I donât know if this is really is true. But if itâs the case 343i has to change something because that would be a little disadvantage. Sure itâs possible to get used to it, but nonetheless i would consider this as unfair.
Tbh iâm really confused what is really the case, at this point i would be really happy if 343i would make an exact explanation of the aim mechanic for Controller on PC and what it is on Console (in relation to the RR and AA).
I see a lot of the same concern over the removal of the red reticle on PC after the report on feedback/changes.
However I saw almost no, maybe one thread, while the flights were active and shortly afterwards inquiring about it/observing itâs absence. It may serve a purpose, sure, but if it was such a necessary crutch I think more people would have taken up their pitchforks on this one.
This feels like a knee-jerk reaction to possibly being at a trivial disadvantage as a result, one that wouldnât have been noticed by most had they not been told about it. Hope thatâs the case, and that yall have fun with the game in Live the same way you did with the Flights where itâs absence wasnât felt.
My confusion with this decision is this would even impact competitive tournaments.
If you have to play on Xbox with red reticle enabled first, then transition to PC without one, seems like a big change nevermind the system change. All within a high stakes setting.
I just like the red reticle. Itâs neat, donât really know why I do, my aim wasnât affected by it on the flight, so it doesnât really matter for me, but I still want it back.
LAN will have it Iâm sure, this is an online thing. It was in training mode on PC.
As an Xbox player Iâm glad 343 did this, if there was zero crossplay Iâd be against it as it seems like a useless feature, but Xbox players have no counter to cheaters who use PC crossplay. This was done to prevent people who abused the system from further abusing it.
PC players can still use red reticle cheats by streaming the xbox version of the game over xcloud, which renders the change useless. Their misguided attempt at an anti-cheat measure only serves to punish legitimate PC players. I would rather see a kernel-level driver like vanguard or riochet to stop all kinds of cheat programs, than compromise fundamental platform parity for a change that only stops red reticle triggerbots.
Yeah can someone please explain this? The energy sword and needler has âred-dotâ, but none of the other weapons does for me. I donât belive that it has ANYTHING to do with cheats in tearms of coding (as some people belive) since this wasnât a problem for halo 4 pc edit. PLEASE bring back the red dot! Itâs a trademark for Halo, and i belive it should be in the game on pc aswell
RRR triggerbots are easily fightable by anticheat scripts.
simply compare the trigger pull times after RRR:
if they are identical (or identical enough), there is a bot at work.
no human player pulls the trigger at the same time always.
