I tried posting this last night but looks like it didn’t go through. But I thought it would be cool if a new added function to the HUD or ability was kinda similar to Arkham asylum/city detective mode. The ability to see enemies through walls etc. I doubt it would ever make into game plus it wouldn’t go well in multiplayer.
The motion sensor is good enough, I don’t think it would be necessary to possess such an advantage.
Yeah I was just thinking out of the box for something new thats a little more edgy. I remember seeing a early screen cap of reach and it had a image of a more 3d style motion tracker. it looked angled on the screen and the dots representing friend and foe their normal coloring but a line drew down from the dot. Similar to a 3d GPS map. But I can see how that could’ve been confusing somewhat.
IR would be fun, Xray, no, it would be too over powered in some areas, and useless in others, Xray can’t really penetrate metals that well, and Forerunner’s metal that they use in their buildings, we have no clue how well X-rays penetrate, but I have a good guess that they protect from most if not every radiation known to the forerunners, which would in turn give a giant middle finger to who every is trying to use X-ray vision to spy on the Woman’s locker room.
If there is any type of vision I’d like to see, it’d have to be thermal vision, would it be able to see personal shields? Will it be able to render cloaking useless? How would Forerunner tech look using thermal vision?
Yeah I don’t know. But being this is set 500 years in the future the could fudge the physics a little. If you’ve played any of the Arkham games you’ll know what I mean with the seeing through walls. It would be too much of a ultimate weapon which would take all the fun out. I know Crysis 2 had a thermal mode in it but it was a bit fuzzy at times. The Forerunner tech who knows. And being that we’ll most likely be fighting a lot of mechanical foes in the next game thermal would not work so hot unless they have a generator that would give off. No way of telling what we’ll find in the Halo womens locker room.
I’d much prefer CEA’s analyse mode. It didn’t interfere with the gameplay, and it added gave info about enemies. Only this time it shouldn’t be kinect-exclusive.
How about a Power Up that puts waypoints above all the enemies’ heads? The code is already there and with some tweaking could be a reality.

I know what what you mean, I got a free copy of Batman AC with my new Graphics card, and I’ve played Deus EX HR, which has X-ray like vision.
What about the VISR mode from Halo 3: ODST, that was pretty cool, they could implement that.

I actually liked the visor mode in ODST. But thats more of a uber-night vision thing. I was thinking if you’re cornered in a area and didn’t have a clear indication of where and how many enemies are you could with a heat signature mode setting. No clear line of sight. You know hit the left or right bumper to activate it when needed.

no. please do not put silly little gimmicks like this into Halo 4.
you mean Blacklight Tango Down HRV? lol we saw how bad that went right.
This would make things way too easy, hell, even VISR made things too easy.

VISR would be great for dark parts on maps if we got odsts to play as on invasion against grunts

So basically VISR would be good, but only for firefight.
